WHY I AM AFRAID FOR NIGERIA,CHINA GETTING WORRIED ABOUT AFRICA'S INDEPTEDNESS TO IT
China has been trying everything possible to make Africa its business hub and in doing this they have decide to help African countries in several ways such as giving long term lones and grants.few weeks ago there was a news on china seizing Uganda's international airport for not been able to pay there dept.but it was later denied by the Chinese press.whether true or not the truth is that alt of things has to be corrected in Africa.
Africa as a country has both natural and human resources which can totally help in developing most of the countries but African leader are never ready to take a step further in the development of the continent instead they resent into corruption which is the major reason why virtually all Africa countries are going backward today.
Now let's come to the Chinese government giving African lones.its never a bad idea to collect lone to solve some of the economic problems,but the problem is that the lone that are been giving to most African countries are not utilized for the purpose they are meant for.most of the lones are been diverted for private use thereby putting the country into more economic dept. A good example is the
Nigerian government that has been collecting from the Chinese government.the Chinese government has granted the Nigerian government several lone which the country cannot account for.most of the lone been giving by the Chinese government are suppose to be for projects that will help in developing the country economically.if the lone are been used for what they are meant for,it will in future generate funds that can be use to repay the lone but in the case of Nigeria and other African countries the reverse is the case instead they prefer squandering the money and use it for their own selfish interest there by impoverishing the masses and bad economic conditions.
Recently the Chinese government has been worried about Africa's indeptedness to the Chinese,this is because they are the biggest Africa creditor.report has it that as at the beginning of this year, the Chinese government pledged to help the African countries with $60billion but had to reduced it to $40billion because they are not sure of how well Africa will use the this money judiciously.if they should grant any African country lone and then could not pay back then they will have to take other measures to ensure they get the lone back . Am very sure that was the case with uganda which led to the seizing of their airport by the Chinese government. The same thing could also happen to Nigeria if they end up not being able to repay the lone.
Well in my opinion it is time African countries rise up and do the needful by putting an end to corruption,it is time they think of how to develop the continent and stop embezzling public funds most especially Nigeria which is been refer to as the giant of Africa because the amount of lone Nigeria government has received from the Chinese government is very alarming and yet no one could account what they spent the money on.
