Human brain is very active in doing all your tasks but most of the activeness is consumed by the external factors without really focussing on the real thing that matters at the moment. A few years back I used to use quite a lot of social media, surfing through the internet and watching a ton of youtube videos without focussing on my real goal which is coding and developing beautiful applications for the world. I got to realise that something has to be changed and it's not going to be easy. I started doing the following things slowly and steadily, and now I have more control over my brain than ever. I can now work with complete focus and full concentration.

Phone

I spent hours and hours wasting my time on phone without worrying about the amount of time that I am wasting unnecessarily. Instead, I could have used that time to bond with my family, friends and relatives. I decided to time constraint myself from using Mobile to 1Hr max in a day. It really had a huge impact on my mental health. I was able to focus like never before and perform tasks much more quickly. It was really hard to not take a break to use phone but I kept my phone a mile away while I was working. It had a really great impact on my career as well as personal being. I started decreasing my phone usage on a daily basis and now I only use my phone only when necessary. It has really made me a better person and I now have a very healthy relationship with all of my friends/family.

By only avoiding this small electronic device I was able to -

Ease My Focus

After I restricted my usage of Phone, I was able to focus on things that really mattered to me and I was able to see things with wide focus and calmness. One thing that we need to understand about our brain is it loves distraction and it doesn't want to do the heavy lifting stuff. It just want to grab all the information without deducing it for your own good. It was hard for me to stay away from mobile but I did it no matter how much my brain forced me to use it and feel distracted. I am not saying it was really hard but it was not easy too.

## Span Of Focus I reduced my unnecessary exploration time on the internet to bare minimum and it had a huge impact on me. I was able to focus for long without being distracted by small things e.g Phone, PS4 games exploration, Surfing the internet for fun. Not only I got more time to focus on my goals but also I was able to consciously observe my focus being directed in the right direction. It is very delighting to know that you are improving and have more control over your brain.

## More Ideas And Plans

Just by reducing my phone usage, my mind became free and I got ton of free time to focus on life changing ideas for myself and for my family. You know, about 48% of our time is spent thinking about the future and what is going to happen next. The metric is remains the same even if you are using your phone or busy wasting your time on unnecessary things. If you have free time, do not spend it on phone or wandering off the internet even if you do not wish to do anything. Just stay calm and let the time go on, it has helped me rediscover myself and made me a better version than I was yesterday. It is fine to stay still and not do anything than to spend your energy in consuming the wasteful social media content.
