For much of the last year, we heard about this incredible application called #projectblank. Throughout 2021, it becomes something akin to the Loch Ness Monster. Here is something that many claim is real yet never was truly seen. We have rumors, maybe even some sightings, but nothing that can be validated.

All kidding aside, ProjectBlank is a serious issue. We are dealing with something that has enormous power when coupled with Hive. The idea of "Twitter on the Blockchain" is something that can really explode.

Why is there reason for so much optimism? Is this a situation which is over the top?

Many will look at it that way. However, when we look at some of the boxes that are being checked, we can see the enormous potential this carries.

Before getting into that, let us take a look at where things stand.

Leofinance Mobile

Much of the delay is due to the setbacks with the Leofinance Mobile application. ProjectBlank is going to be a fork from that application, hence we cannot put the cart before the horse. Unfortunately, development operates at its own speed. We also had the delays attributed to Google and Apple (mostly Apple). This ate up more than a month.

There is another piece to this puzzle. LeoInfra is an architecture that Leofinance developed to enhance the user experience. This is part of what makes the potential of ProjectBlank so high.

We have a number of pieces in motion with the Leofinance Mobile Application. We are having to wait for it all to align before ProjectBlank can be rolled out. What is fortunate is that once the mobile application is to the point of forking, the process should proceed rather quickly. It is just a matter of aligning the forked application with the back end that, we can only presume, is already under development.

Instead of going through the entire year end road map, this was covered in a recent video.

Watch this 4 minute video if you have not done so to get an idea of what the process will look like.

Since it is hard to know what "housekeeping" means, we will just have to wait until we receive further updates on the progress. It appears that even the team is not sure how it will take since Khal seemed a bit uncertain. Either way, it is part of the process so we will have to be patient.

Easy Transition

One of the items most discussed within the realm of cryptocurrency is how difficult it is to use. There is no doubt that wallets made up of numbers and letters is confusing. While Hive does not have that issue since people can name their accounts, the 4 key system is enough to make anyone's head spin.

Here is where I believe ProjectBlank will be a raging success. It incorporates all that is difficult and makes it easy. The LeoInfra development is crucial in this area.

So let us take a look at what the potential is.

380 Million Monthly Users On Twitter

There are around 380 million people who use Twitter on a monthly basis. This means that, since the new application will mirror Twitter to a great degree, the learning curve is near zero.

Unlike most other blockchain based applications where there is a large learning curve, with this, if you know Twitter you can use ProjectBlank. Hence, people will be able to start using it as soon as they log on.

Billions Logging In With Traditional Social Media

How many people know how to log in using a Twitter, Facebook, or Google account? A rough guess is over 3.5 billion people can do this. When we look at the number of users of those three applications combined, it is well over 3 billion.

Why is this important?

With LeoInfra, once it is built out to the point where ProjectBlank is released, the option of signing in using these accounts will be available. This eliminates the need to figure out how to get a Hive account, what it does, and how does one use all those keys. None of this matters, at least to start.

LeoInfra is designed to lower the barrier to entry, enabling millions to engage as soon as they log on. I do not believe this concept can be overlooked. Without the added confusion of keys and blockchain, people will start operating like it is another Web 2.0 application.

Of course, it is not. This is Web 3.0 and people will be eligible for rewards. To partake in that, it will require claiming one's account and learning about the key system. Nevertheless, as we can see, this is way to get them involved in stages.

General Purpose Application

Even though it is being put together by the Leofinance team, this is a general purpose application. This means that any content is acceptable. It is not specialized like Leoinance, focusing upon cryptocurrency, business, and finance.

Naturally, this makes the application appeal to more people. It will also send the usage through the roof.

The reality is that few people are bloggers in the traditional sense. Most of the stuff posted online is pure, for lack of a better word, garbage. It is people sharing whatever is on their mind, whether it involved what the President did or the wart on one's thumb. The back and forth interaction can take place over the silliest topics.

Nevertheless, that is what interests people and the Internet is not a mecca for high quality content.

ProjectBlack will cater to this audience. It will also send the transactions on the Hive blockchain skyrocketing. We can only wonder how many Tweets (along with the associated comments) are made each day. If this application can pull in 1 million users, the number of Blanks and associated responses will be in the millions.

Finally, there will be the potential to link one's Twitter account through ProjectBlank. This means that Blank can act as a front end to Twitter while also providing backup of people's data since it is stored on Hive.

The marketability of this application is enormous. This is why #projectblank is going to be a huge success.
