Hello everyone. I believe most of you are aware about the threats and vulnerabilities of our modern-day internet about the fact that there are so many malrors and viruses and hackers who are after our data and yours could be affected at any moment. So I found this video a few days ago which was quite informative. And it was an eye-opener. There were a lot of things that I thought maybe weren't possible in real life, but that was proven wrong. Turns out all those wacky things and hacks you see on the movies are much more realistic than what you would have assumed. The top secret spies of leading Nations really have some capabilities which we cannot even fathom. And a lot of this would have still been unknown to most of us until two major things happened. One was the famous wikileaks and Edward Snowden coming out and talking about how the CIA operates and what atrocious capabilities they possess. But that is the one all of you know already. But I want to emphasize the other one.

Long story short, there were many people who were working in those academics. Agencies brought home some classified files to practice their skills in cyber warfare so when these people practiced they obviously used their home PC. Now we should also remember the timeline. This was in the early 2020s such as 2011 to 2016 maybe. If you would wonder correctly back then antiviruses were a thing. Everyone uses some antivirus to protect themselves from malware attacks. So antiviruses work like this. They have a database which stores signatures of all viruses that they know and whenever they find something unusual in any one of those client computers, it sends a copy of those to its database. So when someone from the CIA brought home sensitive information to practice the antivirus on his PC Kaspersky scanned it and sent it to the database. A popular belief is that someone at Kaspersky leaked it and that is how the shadow brokers came to be. The shadow brokers initially wanted a ransom of half a billion dollars. Those classified documents which included many hacking tools. But sadly no one bought into them and they never got that Ransom. So a couple years later they released it for free publicly. And that is when all hell broke loose. People realize that this entity wasn't messing around and it really had the things that could break the internet. And from those two of the biggest cyber attacks in this century took place. One being Wannacry and the other being Notpetya.

These two cyber attacks caused plenty of damage around the world. You can simply look it up and see for yourself. But the fact that all this happened from one leak from one government spy organization goes to show how advanced these organizations are and actually how public our information is.
