Helloooo beautiful people of the community. It's been a minute.
Oh no!! I have missed the few weeks I hadn't shown up here. I had an injury on my heel which made it hard for me to pedal my machine or do anything streneous.
Although I'm not fully healed, still trying to get back on my feet. However I made a masterpiece that's worth sharing.
Blazer And Pegged Pant
I love me some pepper๐. The two piece is screaming spicy!!
Let me walk you through the process of this luxury blazer and pant.
Fabric sourcing is the most vital part of sewing. A good fabric equals good outcome and vice versa.
After sourcing my fabric, I began to draft.
A blazer is a versatile piece that can be paired on skirt, dress, pants and even short.
I drafted this pattern using a shoulder cut to achieve. It can also be in a princess bustier.
To achieve this one needs their bust, shoulder, hip, waist , jacket length. The collar for this blazer is called a lapel collar.
For the client, she paired the blazer with a pair of pant and to achieve the pant requires the was it, hip and trouser length.
I drafted each of them accordingly and placed the red crepe fabric to transfer.
Here is the two yards of cup chain I used in embellishing the blazers.
After which I interface each piece of the blazer to achieve a firmer and neater finishing.
To start the blazer, one must first make a welt pocket on the main fabric while turning with the suit lining. Which I did here.
After which, I joined each piece together. Main fabric to main fabric and suit lining to suit lining to give it a bagged out finishing technique.
The last thing is to see the hem together. For the sleeve of the blazer, it's actually where the struggle was.
It is way different from sewing a regular basic sleeve. The drafting and turning of the lining requires skill and patience but I was glad I did it so well.
Over to the embellishments. It decided to create something unique with the cup chain which required hand tacking to the already made blazer.
Here's the finished look of the pretty spicy outfit. It's screaming luxury, elegance, class, beauty and more.
It took me about six hours to cut and sew to completion and viola it was all worth it. One thing is to sew, another thing is to know the right outfit to style and complement an outfit.
From the brooch to the short white shirt.. All was made by me! And the feeling is so priceless to watch your design sit pretty on your client.
The reviews on the outfit from my clients and others who saw this piece live was such an encouragement to me. It gladdened my heart and now I would love to hear your reviews too!
Images used belong to me, outfit was cut and sewn by me.
