Hello everyone!

A new Conclave Arcana promo card is coming to Splinterlands, and it's none other than Yaba's Pickle, whose name is inspired by one of the founders of Splinterlands, Yabappmat.

Every time I see Yaba's Pickle, I can't help but remember Pickle Rick :P

How good is Yaba's Pickle?

Image from thread image.png

Let's take a look at their stats, at low levels nothing interesting. In my opinion, it becomes useful at level 5, where in addition to having the Dodge ability, which gives it a 25% increased chance to evade physical attacks, it gains the Shield ability, which allows it to take less damage from physical attacks.

It gains the Slow ability at level 8, which reduces the speed of enemy units by 1. And at max level, it gains the Heal ability, which allows it to restore 1/3 of its max health each round.

So, there's no doubt that it's an excellent card, it's not even rare and has better stats/abilities than other higher rarity units. I feel like it will be one of the most used units in the Modern league, as it is pretty good against melee and ranged attacks, and it will definitely be crucial in the Little League modifier as it is a 4 mana unit.

Since Yaba's Pickle has no attack, units with the Weapons Training ability can grant it their attack type and power. Some useful units will be:

Since units with magic attacks are Yaba's Pickles' weaknesses, as it has no protection against them, using units with the Silence ability, which reduce enemies' magic attack by 1, is useful. Unfortunately, there are no water, dragon or neutral archons in the modern format to help against magic. And the only archon in the wild format that can help against magic is Bortus, who reduces the enemies' magic attack by 1.

Yaba's Pickle will be the first unit in the Conclave Arcana set and the third unit overall to be a Golem unit. The other two golems are Chaos Golem and Runi.

Unfortunately, there are no Golem Archons with the Bloodline Dominion yet, so Yaba's Pickle cannot gain an additional buff like Orcs or Elves can.

And since there are only 3 golems with the addition of Yaba's Pickle, I doubt a Golem Archon will appear in the Conclave Arcana set, maybe there will be one in the next expansion, but who knows. In my opinion, the Golem Archon's Dominion ability should give golems the Deflect or Divine Shield ability, since they seem to have special armor.

Yaba's Pickle will definitely be a great card, and will bring new strategies to the game; magic units can take it down very quickly, but if they are not in play, melee and ranged units will have a hard time defeating it. Do you like Yaba's Pickle?

That's all for now guys, if you haven't played Splinterlands yet, you can join with my referral link. See you on the battlefield!
