First day of the month of October and the first day of my most awaited month, INKTOBER I have been preparing for this day for almost a month now XD (Well, more like just practicing and trying to build a habit, still, I count my entire Sketchtember journey as practice. Though I do feel bad that I had to cut that journey short because of some major setbacks at work. Hopefully October will be a much more peaceful journey since this really should be the off season for mining in the philippines.
So for the first prompt word of inktober, the word is dream
A relatively wide word you have there. I could have gone with a vision, a literal image of someone dreaming and whatever the word dream could relate to, but me being me, I went with day dreaming.
You know, just lying down and fantasizing about what I want, what could be, what could have been, the what if's. A lot of daydreaming and just staring into the ceiling with hopes and wishes in my eyes.
But why go with this idea? Simply because I feel stuck again. Nothing is working out for me and I'm also getting sick in a literal and mental sense at work. I feel stuck so I'm alwaysjust day dreaming now, desperately hoping something would change and this I hope reflects in what I've drawn here.
Materials: red and yellow liquid ink, red and white gel pen, red and brown pen
Duration: 3 hours
So for the progress
I actually started this at work a few days prior cuz I was really determined to finish this Inktober no matter what. I already gave a weeekend away to gathering references and for inking papers because lately I've been really appreciative of toned and pigmented paper because the white chalk I use really pops out when it's time to highlight plus it saves a bit more ink than I usually do. Though I've already lost a few pens along the way, but that's fine, as long as I know I've used up the entire ink cartridge.
Like in this one, I used up one of my gel pens just from doing the red base and eventually the red background...
Though if you base from here, I wasn't actually plannning to do the red background, but since I show my progress to my boyfriend, he gives me suggestions as a fellow artist first before boyfriend XD
So yeah, he suggested I stick to my usual monotone style with this since I already did the highlights in a slightly neon red. And I greatly appreciated that. @sensiblecast also suggested I do a green background for christmas or yellow so it goes straight to new year XD
Sorry mebs, I got lazy to change the shade of highlights so monotone it was XD
So this was the almoost finished piece without my last highlight touches UwU
First day of inktober done!
If you're curious about what I'll do for the rest of inktober, consider following my inktober journey UwU
See you guys tomorrow!
