Good morning, beautiful people, good morning the #spendhbd team, yesterday was another day of marketing, onboarding and mentorship.
I had a great and stressful day with my honorable partner @iquo, we had already agreed and fixed Wednesdays for marketing, onboarding, and mentorship.
To succeed, I had to work on printing new marketing flyers that would help people see the full context of Hive.
I have always had this goal and motive of onboarding users from the University of Lagos state because I believe that most of them will do well on Hive.
I have been there several times, but most times I went, they were having their exams, so I couldn't get much attention, but I didn't give up.
Most of these students are skilled and will bring more value to Hive with their original content, some of them also will love to invest and bring more of their friends to the Hive platform.
Yesterday afternoon me and @iquo we left Surulere Lagos and The University of Lagos state for spendhbd and hive outreach.
To my greatest surprise, some of the young ones we came in contact with don't even know what Web3 is, and they thought that Hive was a scam and weren't interested.
Onboarding and mentorship.
The environment is very large with different departments and different hostels, so we chose one department and looked for students who are gathered in groups to give a presentation on what Hive is all about.
During the presentation, I explained what Hive is all about, and I also explained the Spendhbd project.
There is no listed shop around the school environment, so we couldn't have a section practice on how to shop with hbd, but if we have more users there, it will be easier to list a shop in the premises where they can use hbd for payments.
They ask lots of questions, like how to withdraw, what to write about and how old is hive, and I gave them convincing answers.
Finally I got to onboard three new users @inspiredpaul, @preciousbaby123, @sheistiwa with the spendhbd sign up link, tho network was so bad, I struggled a lot before i could swap hbd to hive for the sign up, finally I was able to onboard them and help them set up their profile and also join communities of their choice.
They can't learn everything in Just few minutes so I got their WhatsApp number where the mentorship will continue, currently they are working on introducing themselves to hive, then am also making plans of hosting a workshop where I can demonstrate to them how to shop, pay with hbd and get some cash back, time is required to make these newbies see the value of hive and also realize their roles and responsibilities as users, they will also see the need to invite friends to hive.
It was late evening, and we had to go back to Surulere. On our way back, I took @iquo to visit @gracylnhouse's shop, she had never shopped there before, so she shopped and we took some pictures.
We also visited Chiefomart and got some things we needed. After that, I was exhausted and had to go home and rest.
My target.
I have the target of onboarding as many users as possible from the University of Lagos, and spendhbd outreach will help me to reach that target. Next Wednesday is another day for spendhbd/hive Marketing, I will see if I can get more interested students to onboard and also check on these newbies I onboarded yesterday.
Thanks to @iquo, who has made herself available for marketing, and thanks to the #spendhbd team, @starkez and others, for their support.
Am bullish about hive and spendhbd project so more hard work and more results should be expected .
