Maintaining an adequate weight is important for health, since I was little I have been thin, in some cases very thin, but over the years I have gained some kilos and although I stay thin, it is not like before that I could eat many things in my diet and my weight remained in range, in adulthood it has been a process and a routine to maintain the right weight, I am tall and the doctor suggested to take a balanced diet, but being honest the most difficult part of maintaining this diet have been the carbohydrates, especially the famous Venezuelan arepa, which is an essential part of breakfast and dinner in the country's cuisine, although I do not eat it daily, there are other preparations just as good that include corn flour, such as; empanadas, stuffed buns, balls and cheese fingers, among others, this has been one of the great challenges to lead a healthy diet that allows me to maintain the ideal weight, there are also sweets, which I like very much, I can follow a diet with discipline and in fact I take it to the extent of my possibilities, at lunch I have eliminated the flour and spaghetti, but the detail is when I want to eat sweets or I crave a delicious arepa for breakfast, to justify myself I say, indulge myself with a delicious dessert is not superfluous, but I am aware that it does not help to maintain my weight and I must have firmness and control at this point, the dilemma is how I explain to my stomach that you can not eat sweet when I also want a dessert.

In addition to reducing the consumption of carbohydrates in my diet, to maintain the ideal weight I must increase the consumption of proteins and vegetables, at breakfast I usually prepare omelets with vegetables, sautéed vegetables accompanied with roasted or baked chicken breast, salads are also an important part of a healthy diet because they provide vitamins and minerals for the proper functioning of the body, As for lunch I have already adapted to a carbohydrate-free diet and although sometimes I include vegetables such as potatoes, octopus, among others that contain starch (an important source of carbohydrates), they are necessary for the vital functions of the body, protein consumption has not been a problem because I like to eat chicken, beef and fish, also eggs in different preparations and at lunchtime I have no complications, because it is a pleasant meal to the palate, As I mentioned before the detail is with sweets and sometimes with breakfast and dinner, in the latter I have chosen to make light meals, such as salads, tortillas and green juices, also and not least, an exercise routine or walks to burn calories and give movement to the body is part of the routines and habits I have to maintain my weight, the most difficult is to completely eliminate the consumption of carbohydrates but I know that I can do it with perseverance and maintain an optimal state of health.
