Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una nueva pieza que me ha llevado en un viaje de exploración, descubrimiento y aprendizaje. Antes de comenzar, quiero expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a todos en este proceso, sus comentarios y palabras siempre han sido una fuente de motivación para seguir mejorando siempre. En esta ocasión, quise darle un giro interesante a mi concepto de Healer Ocean, transformándola en una criatura marina que refleja la esencia del océano en su diseño. Para ello, inicie el dibujo con Ibis Paint X en mi teléfono móvil, un proceso que me permitió construir las bases esenciales de la obra, otro reto mas mientras me instalaba con la tableta grafica y el programa krita. Luego, cuando finalmente pude instalar la tableta gráfica que recibí ayer, aproveché la oportunidad para trasladar mi trabajo a Krita, un programa que me ha intrigado por sus herramientas y posibilidades. Esta fue una experiencia amplia y compleja en comparación de lo que sabia, pues al explorar nuevos pinceles, descubrí texturas que aportaron una profundidad y realismo inesperados al resultado final. Hello, dear Holozing friends! A special greeting to all extending a salute also to our @Acidyo and all the team and curators behind Holozing. Today I want to share with you a new piece that has taken me on a journey of exploration, discovery and learning. Before I start, I want to express my sincere thanks to everyone in this process, your comments and words have always been a source of motivation to keep improving always. This time, I wanted to give an interesting twist to my concept of Healer Ocean, transforming it into a sea creature that reflects the essence of the ocean in its design. To do so, I started the drawing with Ibis Paint X on my cell phone, a process that allowed me to build the essential foundations of the artwork, yet another challenge as I settled in with the graphics tablet and the krita program. Then, when I was finally able to install the graphics tablet I received yesterday, I took the opportunity to move my work to Krita, a program that has intrigued me with its tools and possibilities. This was a broad and complex experience compared to what I knew, because as I explored new brushes, I discovered textures that brought unexpected depth and realism to the final result. Etapas del Dibujo/Drawing Stages
Mi recorrido comenzó con el trazado inicial en Ibis Paint X, donde me concentré en construir la piel con una base suave y bien definida, buscando tonos adecuados que resaltaran, entre tonos saturados y fríos. Utilicé varios tonos de azul y verde para generar un degradado que transmitiera la frescura del agua. Luego, dediqué tiempo a los accesorios del pecho. Los ojos fueron otra parte crucial en esta primera fase, ya que trato de buscar que tengan profundidad, expresión y ese brillo especial que los haga destacar.
My journey began with the initial tracing in Ibis Paint X, where I concentrated on building the skin with a soft and well-defined base, looking for the right tones that would stand out, between saturated and cool tones. I used various shades of blue and green to generate a gradient that conveyed the freshness of the water. Then, I spent time on the accessories on the chest. The eyes were another crucial part in this first phase, as I try to make them have depth, expression and that special sparkle that makes them stand out.
Después de terminar esta etapa en Ibis Paint X, exporté el archivo a Krita para continuar trabajando en la obra. Esta transición fue un momento clave, pues me permitió conocer más sobre el programa y cómo se adaptaba a mi flujo de trabajo. Con la tableta gráfica, pude explorar nuevas herramientas y pinceles que aportaron una calidad más sólida a la textura, especialmente en las últimas etapas del proceso. Me encantó la forma en que los detalles finales tomaron vida, dando un acabado más pulido y natural.
After finishing this stage in Ibis Paint X, I exported the file to Krita to continue working on the artwork. This transition was a key moment, as it allowed me to learn more about the program and how it adapted to my workflow. With the graphics tablet, I was able to explore new tools and brushes that brought a more solid quality to the texture, especially in the later stages of the process. I loved the way the final details came to life, giving a more polished and natural finish.
A pesar de los retos que enfrenté, como la gestión de capas que en ciertos momentos llegaron a desordenarse debido a la interfaz más compacta del programa, logré reorganizarlas adecuadamente para continuar sin mayores inconvenientes. Una de las dificultades con las herramientas fue encontrar la opción para bajar la opacidad del fondo. Al no manejar del todo bien algunos ajustes, terminé dejando el fondo blanco, aunque esto no afectó demasiado el impacto visual del personaje pero si mi vista 😅.
Despite the challenges I faced, such as the management of layers that at certain times became messy due to the more compact interface of the program, I managed to reorganize them properly to continue without major problems. One of the difficulties with the tools was finding the option to lower the opacity of the background. As I didn't manage some settings well, I ended up leaving the background white, although this didn't affect too much the visual impact of the character but it did affect my eyesight 😅.
Cada nueva herramienta con la que trabajo me enseña algo valioso. Krita ha sido un descubrimiento que, aunque requiere adaptación, me ha mostrado pinceles increíbles con texturas que realmente enriquecen el resultado final. Me falta mucho por aprender y acostumbrarme completamente al programa, pero puedo decir que esta primera experiencia ha sido muy satisfactoria. Espero que les haya gustado esta nueva interpretación de Healer Ocean con un enfoque distinto a la colección que venía trabajando. Gracias por acompañarme en este proceso. Every new tool I work with teaches me something valuable. Krita has been a discovery that, although it requires adaptation, has shown me incredible brushes with textures that really enrich the final result. I still have a lot to learn and to get completely used to the program, but I can say that this first experience has been very satisfactory.
