I understand the fact that the majority of the students dislike homework. I can remember when I was a student; the moment our teacher said homework, almost half of the students would shout. From my observation, students want things about school to end in school; they want to enjoy life after school without involving school activities. Scrapping homework for students is not good. When I was still a student, it was not easy for me. I would wake up early hours preparing for school, and I would return by 5pm and still do some house chores at home. Most times I would sleep off when doing my assignment. That is the fun of education. Homework is very necessary; it will help sharpen the child.
Generally homework has a way of sharpening the kids. A kid is able to take responsibility at their little age; they know that they should do their homework. I have this niece of mine; she comes back from school after having her bath, the next thing she does is to write her homework before eating. At that little age, she has seen her homework as a responsibility.
During my service year, I was a teacher. The school I was posted at doesn't joke with homework; they made it compulsory that every teacher must give the kids homework, at least one, to take me. Some one like who knows the important of homework i don’t hesitate to them homework i so believe that this kids need to be busy at home the main reason of giving this kids homework is for them to practice what there teacher have taught them and for there parents or guardian to help them understand it the more in school the don’t have all the time to learn it because many subjects are been taught in school giving them homework will enable them to understand it the more. There are some parents who don’t joke with homework; back then, I knew of a parent who always came to school if their child was not given homework.
Homework is not only important for the student is also important that the teacher should always give them homework. It will enable the teacher to know if the students understood the lessons being taught in class.
Giving kids homework all the time will help improve their study habits; they will be ever ready to read their book. Kids who have developed a reading habit are creative, think critically, and know how to manage time. Above all, they are self-disciplined and confident.
Homework is very important in a child's life. I can still remember when I was living with my aunty; each time the kids came back from school and started disturbing the peace of the house, I would ask them if their teacher didn’t give them homework. The moment they said no, I would ask them why. Homework is very essential in a kid's life; it keeps them busy at home, and it helps them to prepare themselves for the future.
Homework enables parents or guardians to monitor their kids' performance at school. Homework has a way of bonding a parent and a child together. It is doing this homework that a parent will notice his or her weak point, and then they will pay for extra lessons to help the child.
What is school without giving the kids a take-home assignment? Homework is very important because it is the foundation of the child is totally wrong if teachers fail to give the students homework. As a teacher, you should be able to prepare these kids for the future. Scrapping homework from the school system will be totally wrong. I understand that there are some schools that overload these kids with homework, which gives them no time to play and rest after school. Homework should be given to these kids to moderate the also need to relax their brains after a long day at school and also bond with families and associate with their peers.
I am advocating that homework should not be scrapped in the school system; it has really helped the students to learn and develop some important skills.
