INTRO:
A bee and a hive are entwined together to extract honey. The bees are collecting flower nectars and keeping them inside the hive until, over time, they produce sweet sticky honey called "dugos" in the Cebuano dialect. The latter is so beneficial, not just as a sweetener and antibacterial agent, but most of all, it aids in wound healing.
Marriage is always like that: a bee and a hive. Both must work out their relationship together to produce a strong bond of companionship as sweet as honey. However, marriage life is not always honey. Sometimes it is an armani, which means warrior; in other words, the pair is facing battles or warring with each other due to uncontrolled circumstances like problems and trials in all their forms.
I concur with the saying that says, "Ang pag-aasawa ay hindi tulad ng kaning isinubo, na kapag napaso ay iluluwa." Marriage should not be taken faintly, as its meaning says in English. We experienced being troubled at every turn and clashing over ways of doing things. These are all part of marriage life. Genuine relationships begin when marriage life is tested through blazing fires of suffering. It can only be proven strong when a fire is put out.
THREE (3) THINGS NOT TO MISS OUT ON, IN A MARRIAGE LIFE
There are a number of factors to consider in order to have a successful relationship but this time I'll narrow them down to just three.
1. COMMUNICATION
In any relationship, communication has always been as important as eating meals every day. If we notice, we tend to go pale and dizzy if we don't eat for a day or more. Same with a relationship; it becomes cold when communication becomes unnecessary. Remember, our simple greetings and regards can brighten a day. But what is most crucial here is during the heightening trials. Spending time to converse and discuss things in a calm way at this moment is so essential to pacifying a troubled heart.
Listening to each other is also vital here. Learn to let his or her side be heard. The next process follows, up to the point where the solution becomes your prime target. Thus, communication is the first and most important step in a relationship to proceed with figuring out a solution to a certain conflict.

2. BONDING TIME TOGETHER
The bonding moment together doesn't end after courtship and extends a bit until the exchanging of vows before God. Time and scheduling should be arranged to have a date once more. From as simple as watching the sunsets together, reminiscing about your old days, or planning for the future, or eating tempura (streetfood) soaked in a sweet and sour sauce along the beach, to expensive dates, etc. will do depending on your agreement.
3. CLINGING TO DIVINE REALM
Last but not least in rank. Any relationship will beautifully last if guidance from God and fully surrendering ourselves to Him become our special haven. Marriage has alternating high times and low hours that cause nuisance and leave us emotionally upset, annihilated, and void. This may bring about acting impetuously just to take into consideration the repercussions of such action. From our cohesion to finances to our unchanging state of puzzlement to our demands of deep affection and belongingness, and all other related issues that are marriage-related and how to overcome those in order to maintain a successful relationship stem from it.
REALIZATION:
A good marriage requires great courage! Courage to face every obstacle that will try to hinder it from becoming victorious. Be like a bee that persistently sacrifices hovering around flowers to gather nectar, wrestles, and beats against wax moths before it is going to wreck the honeycomb. Be that hive that endures seasons to preserve honey inside. Honeys that are upheld and so precious as children who glued parents together in unity as one family undivided by roaring storms of predicament and violent waves of quandary.
Some couples or families resort to some unique considerations and sets of agreements depending on their situations. The choice is entirely their own, as long as they have respected each other's convenience and happiness. In the end, it is not about what you have or what you have accomplished; it's all about the relationship you want to lift up.
