Progress is happening—and that’s for sure!

At first, my TikTok journey felt like a lottery. It was unpredictable, and I wasn't sure if anything I posted would take off. But as time went on and I stuck with the daily grind, I started to feel more in tune with the platform. I’ve realized that things don’t happen at random. That elusive viral moment is starting to come into focus. The more I explore TikTok, the more I believe that success on a mainstream social media app is achievable for anyone—with the right knowledge and enough determination to keep pushing forward.

But will it happen overnight? Definitely not. That’s one key thing to keep in mind if you decide to get serious about this platform. It might seem easy to just post short clips into this vast ocean of users, but if you have a specific goal, it shouldn’t be taken lightly.

So, are you in it with intention—or are you just dumping content on your page? I believe that if you're going to take the plunge, then take it seriously. Otherwise, it could end up being a waste of time. You need a clear vision of what you want to achieve, and then a plan for how to get there. It's not just about what you post; it's about everything that surrounds that “viral moment.”

I haven’t reached that moment yet—but I truly believe it’s something anyone can achieve.

Why do I say that? Because as I continue to use the app regularly, I’m beginning to understand what makes a particular video go viral and why certain users capture the attention of the crowd.

It all comes down to consistency.

Just like any other platform—algorithm or not—the biggest factor in success is consistency. That consistency needs to show in your content style, your posting schedule, and the way you engage with your audience. I know from my experience on Hive that consistency is what makes a blog thrive, and the same applies to TikTok. People want reliable, quality content from creators they follow.

Viewers look forward to what you’ll showcase next. And when you’re consistent, they begin to see it as your expertise. They respect it, and they trust that you know what you’re talking about.

For me, the key moving forward is to focus on topics that truly resonate with me. One of those is photography. I want to translate that passion into videography, weaving in storytelling to give more meaning to what I capture. I’m still learning how to tell stories through my videos, rather than just stitching together random shots.

I believe that’s what makes viewers excited about a creator’s content.

Recently, someone commented, “I really feel like I’m seeing SG through a new lens because of your excellent videos.”

Wow. That meant a lot to me. It really moved me, and I’m so grateful for that kind of appreciation. It motivates me to keep improving and sharing. That comment reminded me that what I create can have a real impact on those who watch it. And that’s why I want to keep creating content that leaves a visual impression—especially for those who haven’t experienced the places I showcase.

I want to present a different perspective of familiar sights in the city. I want to breathe new life into scenes that have already been captured by countless creators. That’s the drive behind my TikTok journey.

I believe people are eager to see the world differently—and video content has the power to shape that perspective. This creative journey will likely keep me busy for the next few months. There's a lot of research to do, and even more to learn.

I’ll be sharing more about my mainstream social journey soon—see you then!

Thanks for joining me on this part of my TikTok journey—it's only the beginning, and there's so much more to explore. I'm excited to keep learning, creating, and sharing stories that resonate and inspire. Stay tuned, and let’s grow together one post at a time!
