Hello hive
Greetings to you all in this community and I hope you are doing great with your needle and thread and how was Easter Sunday celebration from your side, it is so good to share with you today the making of my choir outfit for Easter celebration. Dashiki bubu with built up collar made with kampala fabric.
On the 13th of this month after Sunday service we were informed that we get new outfits for celebration of Easter this information was lastly pass to us so all the committe decided we should go for Kampala fabric and also to reduce the high cost of the fabric. we were given 2 and half yards each to make same outfit and style we concluded on making this simple dashiki with built up collar and a stylish patch in front.
Most people took their fabric to their friends and family who knows how to sew to make their outfit for them, then I also brought mine home to sew for myself and the outcome was really nice, actually I have it in mind to sew this built up collar for awhile thank goodness we were to sew this style it was great opportunities for me to make the
attempt of this lovely outfit . When it come to my own dress I love to go for simplest and easy outfit and that is what my twins sister does not like she will always say when it come to your client you will choose compiles styles for them to sew ๐๐๐and also I have a friend that doses that and I donโt know if applicable to many stylists like that. Make of this dress yesterday evening was so stressful and tiring due to the was no power supply although thank God it come out really nice.
Let me take you through the simple cutting and sewing process.
folded my fabric in 4 with the length cof the sleeves since it's a dashiki, the sleeves will be cut together with the main bodice.
From the shoulder line on the folded part, I measured 7" for the shoulder line and from which I measured 12" for the sleeves, the shoulder slope was connected with 2", for the neckline, I measured 3 .5" ,width and depth of 7 for the front and 1.5 for the back depth neck and for the front I leave 1inches before drawing out V neck from the shoulder slope I measured 11" for the armhole circumference and connected it to the waistline to hipline, which were divided by 4 + 4" for ease and 1inches for seam allowance.
Full length of the Kampala fabric was 45inches which was actually for me but it was feel dress so go low of my length measurement. I make use of 41+2 for the down hemming, the lines were connected and it was cut out.
The front and back shoulder was sewn together then took out my tape to measured round the neck circumstances to make my built up collar 29 for the neck on plan statin with width of 2.5 on fold fix in through the neck and for the front design patch I cut out this shape.
This particular front design can be cut in three ways, I can actually cut the shape out from the main cloth without having so many joining so I use this method because light and time frame.
I forgot to tell you this earlier I cut out a pocket together with the dress .
After attaching the design on the front bodice then fix in already cutout plan statin to sleeves edges. Finally , both sides were sewn together starting from the sleeves area with 1" seam allowance and it was hem on the full length with 2inches " and my outfit is ready.
Here we are on Sunday looking gorgeous and elegant
Happy Easter Monday to you all how you find this interesting and easy to do.
