This week's theme is Freedom. With a capital F, because it is a really important concept!
I racked my brains to find an original way to answer this contest without being banal. Since I read a lot of books lately (it has always been one of my passions!), I thought I would write a post dedicated to the concept of freedom in literature.
Let's get started!

Il tema di questa settimana è la Libertà. Con L maiuscola, perché è un concetto davvero importante!
Mi sono scervellata per trovare un modo originale per rispondere a questo contest senza essere banale. Dato che ultimamente leggo tanti libri (è sempre stata una delle mie passioni!), ho pensato di fare un post dedicato al concetto della libertà in letteratura.
Partiamo!
There are many titles of books, both Italian and foreign, that deal with the concept of freedom and below we will talk about those that are the most significant for me.

“1984” by George Orwell: this masterpiece talks about freedom of thought and the manipulation of truth by a totalitarian regime. The protagonist, Winston, tries to rebel against the control of thought imposed by the Party and Big Brother;

“Animal Farm” by George Orwell: in this book, animals rebel against men and create a seemingly free society, but power soon corrupts and freedom turns into new oppression;

“Letter to a Child Never Born” by Oriana Fallaci: the author reflects on the role of being a mother and the freedom to choose to be one;

“If This Is a Man” by Primo Levi: the testimony of his imprisonment in Auschwitz. It tells how freedom, dignity and humanity were destroyed in a totalitarian system like the Nazi one;

“The Second Sex” by Simone de Beauvoir: the writer analyses the “secondary” role of women in society and in history over the centuries;

“Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki: a cornerstone of literature on financial freedom. The writer compares two opposing approaches to money and teaches the importance of financial freedom from an early age;

“The Richest Man in Babylon” by George S. Clason: this text tells some parables set in ancient Babylon and offers practical advice on saving and building personal wealth, which leads to the freedom of not having to depend on anyone.
Ci sono molti titoli di libri, italiani e stranieri, che trattano del concetto della libertà e di seguito parliamo di quelli che per me sono i più significativi.

“1984” di George Orwell: questo capolavoro parla della libertà di pensiero e della manipolazione della verità da parte di un regime totalitario. Il protagonista, Winston, cerca di ribellarsi al controllo del pensiero imposto dal Partito e dal Grande Fratello;

“La fattoria degli animali” di George Orwell: in questo libro gli animali si ribellano agli uomini e fondano una società apparentemente libera, ma presto il potere corrompe e la libertà si trasforma in nuova oppressione;

“Lettera a un bambino mai nato” di Oriana Fallaci: l’autrice riflette sul ruolo di essere madre e sulla libertà di scegliere di esserlo;

“Se questo è un uomo” di Primo Levi: la testimonianza della prigionia ad Auschwitz. Racconta come la libertà, la dignità e l’umanità sono state distrutte in un sistema totalitario come quello nazista;

“Il secondo sesso” di Simone de Beauvoir: lo scrittore analizza il ruolo “secondario” delle donne nella società e nella storia nel corso dei secoli;

“Padre ricco, padre povero” di Robert Kiyosaki: un caposaldo della letteratura sulla libertà finanziaria. Lo scrittore confronta due approcci opposti al denaro e insegna l’importanza della libertà finanziaria sin da piccoli;

“L'uomo più ricco di Babilonia” di George S. Clason: questo testo narra di alcune parabole ambientate nell’antica Babilonia e offre consigli pratici sul risparmio e sulla costruzione della ricchezza personale, che porta alla libertà di non dover dipendere da nessuno.

As you can see, many of the references I have talked about concern the theme of the Internet, information technology and finance. In fact, in my opinion, today more than ever it is important to reflect on this concept.
I think Hive plays a fundamental role in this awareness, because it allows us to value originality and freedom of thought. There is no censorship on Hive!

Come potete vedere, molti dei riferimenti di cui ho parlato riguardano il tema di internet, dell’informatica e della finanza. Infatti, secondo me, oggi più che mai è importante riflettere su questo concetto.
Penso che Hive abbia un ruolo fondamentale in questa consapevolezza, perché ci permette di dare valore all’originalità e alla libertà di pensiero. Su Hive non esiste la censura!
