Such a cool experience
In my backyard, I have a few very large trees. Each year, the trees get filled with birds. Spring time is cool cause that is when all the baby birds hatch in their nests.
I had been watching this particular nest for a few weeks. There were originally four eggs in the nest, but then within the last week or so, three of those eggs hatched. Ever since they hatched, I have been watching the momma bird go out looking for food and bring it back to her babies.
When I saw that she was going back and forth between the nest and the yard looking for worms, I grabbed my camera, threw on the 75-200mm lens and then stood up on my fire pit and waited for her to come back.
Once she landed, I had about a half a second to get a bunch of shots of her feeding. Once she got close, the babies all stretched their necks out hoping for a snack. She dropped the worm in one of the babies mouth and then she was off to look for more food.
It all happened so fast, but it was so cool to see. It's been cool getting more in tuned with nature. I've had a bird feeder in my yard for a couple years now and since I put that up, so many new birds have come to our neighborhood. As I get older, I am really beginning to appreciate nature more and the peacefulness that comes along with watching birds. They are fascinating creatures and I love listening to their songs and watching them fly.
