Capsuleer Day XXII just started on the 15th and runs until May 15th. CCP games said there would be stuff to do for everyone, and they were not wrong. Those who enjoy HS get a bunch of stuff to do from exploration, combat, manufacturing, and mining.

Daily And Point Rewards

Daily login rewards.jpg

First, however, we got to talk about some rewards. One type you get as a daily log-in reward and the other you need to earn points to claim. I felt both were a great balance between what changes the players wanted from the last Capusleer event.

Last year you could get the ships and a whole lot of other stuff just by logging in. The player base was not happy about that. Looking at the daily log-in rewards I'm happy to report they have made the change.

It’s also great to see that if you can’t be on for a certain day to claim the rewards for the most part you are not missing out on something massive. There are a couple of days with some huge SP rewards like the first day, the 7th, the 13th, and so on. However, for the most part, it’s skins, boosters, and some EverMarks here or there.

There is an Alpha and Omega reward line. If you are Omega you get both rewards. If you log in daily and hit claim. Even if you are not Omega you can get the Omega rewards if you pick up some game time right at the end of the event. That is rather nice and must be why they are selling some weekend packs for a couple of bucks for 3 days of game time.

point rewards.jpg

The other kind of reward is from earning points for doing certain activities. While they list a couple of the activities the tracker seems a bit buggy. There also seem to be way more ways to earn points than what it’s showing.

The biggest thing you need to do is claim your points right after doing an activity. Otherwise from what I have experienced so far you won’t get credit for doing something similar. This ended up costing me a few points I could have been working towards earning. You need to finish one tier of an objective before getting the next.

If you earn enough points, you can get the ships from The Society Of Conscious Thought line. This includes the Apotheosis, Metramorphosis, Sunesis, Gnosis, and Praxis. I rather like this way of having to earn ships than just everyone getting them for just logging in and doing nothing.

On top of getting ships if you earn enough points. There are also skins, 100 Plex, and some other skin items. I did not see any skins I rather care for. Earning 1,150 points in 30 days seems reasonable for certain activities.

As far as earning the points you need to go out mining, exploring, manufacturing, running combat sites, and even visiting certain wormholes. I’ll be covering these activities in the next sections.

Mining Tyranite

mining Tyranite.jpg

For miners, there is a special kind of ore called Tyranite from this event that they can mine. This ore then gets processed into Eleutrim which is needed in blueprints that drop.

Mining 7k Tyranite gets you some points. I ended up finding other activities to be far more rewarding in terms of points than mining. As once you are in a mining site you just want to sit there and mine far beyond 7k even though you get no further points for doing so.

As far as finding the sites if you look under the activates window in The Agency section. You go down to resource harvesting and then the ore anomalies page. From there you are looking for systems that say they have Tyranite in them.

Once you are in a system that has some Tyranite ore in it. You just need to warp to the Celestial Beacon in the system. This could end up getting changed to Tyranite Beacon at some point. It seems like there are a couple of bugs that need to be worked out. Such as not being able to warp from The Agency window into the site and it no longer showing up when you are in a system that has any.

Relic Exploration Sites

This ended up being activated I ended up doing a lot and getting most of my points so far. I just went out in an Anathema with probes, a relic, and a data analyzer. While any scanning ship will do the quick you can find the sleeper sites the better chances you have at getting some loot.

As one might expect. There are a lot of players flying around high sec looking for the Sleeper Reckoning site. The good news is that also means once one gets finished another one is popping up. I’d sometimes just check the same couple of systems every so often and find new sites popping up rather regularly.

You do need to probe scan all of these down. Since I was a little rusty and wanted to get back into this kind of activity more anyway. I found this the perfect thing to be running to make some ISK and points while fine-tuning how I go about scanning again.

I noticed quite a few players were trying to scan everything in a system before going out to a site. The moment I found any of the sleeper relic sites I warped right into them to start hacking the nodes inside them.

relic site hacking.jpg

Upon warping into a relic site, they are just like a normal one with the expectation of the loot. They are a little bit harder to hack. They however in HS don’t have any rats spawning in. So, they are rather safe from dealing with NPCS. Other players can however find and warp into these as well.

Once I had cleared, I finished scanning everything down. I wanted to find some wormholes for another time, and I even ran the normal relic and data sites as well. As I felt why not I was already there.

blueprints.jpg

As far as the loot goes. You get a few different 1 run blueprints. They are used for making filaments to jump into the special wormhole space for the event. Lots of excitement in those, I'm sure.

That is not the only loot either. There is also blue sleeper loot that you can sell to NPCs for 100k each. Boosters that players pay way too much for. There is even a chance to get some implants.

I lucked out and looted an implant valued at 30 million. Nothing crazy like people are saying that can be found. It was however a nice little something for my time among anything else I was getting. I was mostly after the blueprints.

Sleeper Combat Sites

Combat site.jpg

Another way to try and get blueprints or other event items to drop is by running Reckoning Sleeper Forges. They show up in the scanner but do not require probes to scan down.

Since they are so easy to find I've yet to warp into one that did not have another player already in it. I’ll also admit I don’t have the right ship setup to be speed-running these. What I brought in was overkill, way too slow, and had issues even hitting the smaller sleepers.

Most people seem to be running these sleeper sites like you would expect the sites in WH space to be run. They are out in T3 cruisers. Seems a lot of people like to run them in Loki’s and I have seen some kill quite fast.

When dealing with sleepers they do have quite the defense. They also will warp off the grid and back on again. They also love to eat drones for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

So, these things have two waves of sleepers in each pocket. In the second pocket on the second wave a battleship spawns. That battleship is the only thing that drops loot.

As you might see there are issues. I’ve tried running a few of these sites. Never get them alone. Only one person is getting any loot.

While these might be better in a small gang setting. I’ve noticed most are just soloing them. I might try more of these at some point, but they get a bit annoying when there to many people fighting over getting the one drop that has any loot in it.

I was hoping this one would be the kind I was going run a lot of. So far, they have been a total bust for me. I also need to reship into something better. I’ve been tempted to run them in a BC as I've seen people doing that as well. These sites usually don’t last very long.

At least you can get a few points for killing sleepers and running these sites as well. Even on quite the off hours and lowest number of players online I seem to run into other players in these sites.

Manufacturing

filament blueprint.jpg

Once you have acquired blueprints and some Eleutrim from other players or farming it yourself. It’s time to craft up some filaments to go into WH space if you don’t just buy the filaments themselves from other players.

At least all the blueprints I've looted so far only required 50k Eleutrim to craft. The filaments also seem to be sometimes selling for a lot less than the price of Eleutrim at least during the early days of this event.

There are a few points to be earned for the event from crafting. I would not be shocked if some players are just buying stuff to earn some quick points. The prices people were trying to sell easy-to-find blueprints on day one were rather funny. Prices have since come down an insane amount once everyone realized you can get a few out of a single site.

Keep in mind any filament you craft or buy only last till May 15th. When the event ends, they all go poof. So, you might as well use or sell them during the event. As they are not useful afterward.

Final Thoughts

end.jpg

So far, I've been having a blast farming quite a few blueprints and resources. Along with earning some points towards the ships you can get during the event. Only time will tell what other activities I'll be getting up to. For now, I just plan to be doing quite a lot of exploration sites. I’m sure at some point I'll be jumping into some wormholes.
