Como les comenté en un post anterior, estuve haciendo una visita a una zona cercana a mi local donde se puede observar el lago de Maracaibo y donde tenía pensado desarrollar un taller, el cual fue una idea impulsada por mi esposo.
A la semana siguiente de haber hecho esa visita, quise comentarle a mis alumnas del curso de pintura sobre la idea que estaba desarrollando para que ellas también me dieran sus opiniones y así saber si era una idea atractiva.
As I told you in a previous post, I was making a visit to an area near my place where you can see the lake of Maracaibo and where I had planned to develop a workshop, which was an idea driven by my husband.
The week after I made that visit, I wanted to tell my students of the painting course about the idea I was developing so that they could also give me their opinions and thus know if it was an attractive idea.
Ese día salí como todos los días que me toca dar clases entre semana, a horas del medio día. Tenía la idea de llevarme el cabello suelto ya que quería variar un poco, pero desde que salí de casa me di cuenta que era mala idea.
También me había vestido ese día con un pantalón diferente a lo que suelo utilizar, porque lo vi en una de mis gavetas y al ponérmelo lo sentí más cómodo de lo que recordaba.
Esto también fue mala idea porque luego se puso flojo en la parte de la cintura y comenzó a caerse y caerse. Yo no llevaba correa, por lo que estuve toda la tarde subiéndome el pantalón.😞
That day I went out as I do every day that I have to teach during the week, at noon. I had the idea of wearing my hair down because I wanted to vary a little, but since I left home I realized it was a bad idea.
I had also dressed that day with a different pair of pants than I usually wear, because I saw it in one of my drawers and when I put it on it felt more comfortable than I remembered.
This was also a bad idea because then it got loose in the waist part and started to sag and fall down. I wasn't wearing a thong, so I spent the whole afternoon pulling my pants up.😞
Antes de ir al local me fui a una tienda cercana a consultar algo y me di cuenta que había un chico botando una bolsa con trozos de cartón.
A mi me encanta el reciclaje y vi mucho potencial en esos trozos de cartón, por lo que decidí tomarlos y llevarlos al local para detallarlos. Realmente había sido un buen hallazgo ya que eran un cartón bastante firme que podría servir para muchos propósitos. Así que los acomodé para traerlos luego a casa.
Before going to the store I went to a nearby store to check something and I noticed a guy throwing away a bag with pieces of cardboard.
I love recycling and I saw a lot of potential in those pieces of cardboard, so I decided to take them to the store to detail them. It had really been a good find as they were pretty sturdy cardboard that could serve many purposes. So I arranged them to bring them home later.
Al comentarle sobre la idea a mis alumnas una de ella me habló de otra zona cercana que contaba con techo y que podía servir también para hacer la actividad.
En ese momento decidimos ir a explorar y así podría definir si era mejor ese sitio que el que había pensado.
Caminamos unos cuantos metros y llegamos a la zona donde estaba el bohío, el cual era de un buen tamaño pero quedaba expuesto al sol y además el suelo era de arena. Hacer la actividad ahí no serviría pues la idea era hacerlo como un picnic y esta arena amarilla mancha. Por lo que descarté la idea de inmediato, pero no me cerré a la posibilidad de encontrar otro espacio.
When I told my students about the idea, one of them told me about another nearby area with a roof that could also be used for the activity.
At that moment we decided to go to explore and so I could define if that place was better than the one I had thought of.
We walked a few meters and reached the area where the hut was, which was a good size but was exposed to the sun and the ground was sandy. Doing the activity there would not work because the idea was to do it as a picnic and this yellow sand stains. So I discarded the idea immediately, but I did not close myself to the possibility of finding another space.
Más adelante habían zonas con un poco de grama pero quedaban expuestas, había muy poca sombra y la verdad no era cómodo, al menos no para estar en horas de la tarde.
Cerca de ahí está el puerto donde se observaban algunos pescadores sentados a orilla. La verdad no entiendo cómo hay personas consumiendo pescados del lago, que cómo les he comentado antes, está contaminado.
Further ahead there were areas with a little grass but they were exposed, there was very little shade and it was not really comfortable, at least not to be in the afternoon.
Nearby is the port where some fishermen were sitting on the shore. I really don't understand how there are people consuming fish from the lake, which, as I mentioned before, is contaminated.
Luego de hacer algunas fotos comenzamos a caminar de regreso al local para continuar con la clase. Acá yo me encontraba súper incomoda por el pantalón porque estuve todo el recorrido acomodándolo.
After taking some pictures we started walking back to the store to continue with the class. Here I was super uncomfortable because of the pants because I had been all the way there fitting them.
De regreso detallé una zona que era de jugar bolas criollas, y al mencionarlo me causó gracia que habían unos señores ahí con unos bolso que me dijeron que estaban esperando que bajara un poco más el sol para comenzar a jugar.
Se nota que son personas que hacen vida en esa zona, algo que no tenía ni idea que ocurría pues pensaba que era un lugar desolado, pero ya con esto comprobé que muchas personas lo visitan.
Llegamos hasta el sitio que había pensado y el cambio de clima fue drástico, se sentía super fresco en comparación a todo el tramo que caminamos, ya acá era definitiva la idea de hacerlo en esa zona.

On the way back I detailed an area that was for playing “bolas criollas”, and when I mentioned it I was amused that there were some men there with bags who told me they were waiting for the sun to go down a little more to start playing.
You can tell that they are people who live in that area, something that I had no idea was happening because I thought it was a desolate place, but with this I found that many people visit it.
We arrived to the place I had thought and the change of weather was drastic, it felt super cool compared to the whole stretch that we walked, and here was the final idea to do it in that area.
With this we finished the tour, in a next post I will be sharing with you what was the day of the workshop. ♥
