The theme of this week's Community Engagement Challenge is to write about your favorite lineup and share a battle about it. I definitely have some great lineups and strategies in the current Modern meta that I could write about. However, I was able to settle on one that I've only recently been able to play at all.
Because I just recently bought the key card for this strategy. The card wasn't cheap, but I realized very quickly that it was definitely worth the price. The card in question is Lorkus! Most of you should already know that this Archon is very strong, so a single copy cost me a respectable $41. Unsurprisingly, due to the high price, I left it at the single copy and play him on the first level.
In my battle, I want to show you how I prefer to use Lorkus. Of course, I will also talk about the individual cards that I use in this lineup. Have fun reading!
Rulesets, Manacap and Splinters:
In my battle, only the ruleset Aim True was active, which is rather irrelevant for the strategy I chose. It doesn't influence it positively, but not really negatively either.
The mana cap of 37 is in the medium to high range. Less mana should not be available for my strategy, more would be better. But it is still possible to use my strategy here.
As already mentioned, I will use Lorkus as an Archon for my strategy. Therefore, it is optimal that the Fire and Death Splinter is available.
Lineup and Strategy:

The heart of my strategy is basically the last three cards: Helheim Demon, Arachne Weaver, and Barashkukor. The idea is to spread out the damage on my lineup a bit with Helheim Demon and the ability Taunt so that Arachne Weaver can utilize the full potential of her healing. The magic attack buff also turns these cards into pretty strong attackers. Since, as already mentioned, I usually choose the first alternative of Lorkus, my magic attackers can also get good life points through the Life Leech ability.
Battle:
My opponent unfortunately chose a strategy that somewhat counters mine, as Nomos can significantly weaken my magic attackers, which my opponent did. Honestly, though, the rest of his lineup doesn't look particularly dangerous and I don't quite know what his goal was with it.
Unsurprisingly, I went with the first variant of Lorkus and gave Arachne Weaver and Barashkukor the abilities.
After the first round, my opponent's tank was already defeated. In addition, my monster cards with the Life Leech ability have already gained life points and the Corrupted Healing ability has healed my monsters, so I haven't had any losses yet.
After the second and third rounds, the opponent's lineup is decimated and there's not much standing in the way of my victory. Thanks to the good balance of healing but also high damage, I still have no losses in my lineup.
Unsurprisingly, I was able to win the battle a little later.

I noticed that the new battle result screen is not ideal for blogs like this, as the name of the opponent and the respective rating are not displayed. I like the new screen, but perhaps this should be incorporated in the future.
Last Words:
Magic attack has always been strong and thanks to Lorkus it is even better. That's one of the things that makes this strategy so strong, especially because it's not just offensively oriented, but can also score points on defense thanks to the healing. I didn't choose any cards from the Fire Splinter in this battle because they just didn't fit in, but they can be very helpful in other matchups.

Das Thema der Community Engagement Challenge dieser Woche ist es, über seine Lieblings Lineup zu schreiben und ein Battle dazu zu teilen. Ich habe definitiv einige tolle Aufstellungen und Strategien in der aktuellen Modern Meta, über die ich schreiben könnte. Jedoch konnte ich mich auf eine festlegen, die ich erst seit kurzem überhaupt spielen kann.
Denn ich hab erst kürzlich die Schlüsselkarte für diese Strategie gekauft. Die Karte war nicht billig, aber ich hab doch sehr schnell gemerkt, dass es der Preis definitiv wert war. Es handelt sich hierbei um Lorkus! Die meisten von euch sollten bereits wissen, dass dieser Archon sehr stark ist dementsprechend, hat mich ein einzelnes Exemplar stolze 41$ gekostet. Wenig überraschend habe ich es, aufgrund des hohen Preises, bei dem einzelnen Exemplar belassen und spiele ihn auf dem ersten Level.
Wie ich Lorkus am liebsten einsetze, möchte ich euch in meinem Battle zeigen. Dabei werde ich natürlich auch auf die einzelnen Karten eingehen, die ich in dieser Aufstellung verwende. Viel Spaß beim Lesen!

Das Manacap ist mit 37 eher im mittleren bis hohen Bereich anzusiedeln. Weniger Mana für meine Strategie sollte nicht verfügbar sein, mehr wäre besser. Aber es ist trotzdem noch möglich, hier meine Strategie anzuwenden.
Wie bereits erwähnt, werde ich als Archon Lorkus für meine Strategie verwenden. Daher ist es optimal, dass das Fire und Death Splinter verfügbar ist.

Das Herzstück meiner Strategie sind im Grunde genommen die drei letzten Karten: Helheim Demon, Arachne Weaver und Barashkukor. Die Idee ist, den Damage auf meine Aufstellung durch Helheim Demon und die Ability Taunt etwas zu verteilen, sodass Arachne Weaver das ganze Potential ihrer Healing ausschöpfen kann. Durch den Magic Attack Buff werden diese Karten außerdem zu ziemlich starken Angreifern. Da ich, wie bereits erwähnt, meistens die erste Alternative von Lorkus wähle, können meine Magic Attacker durch die Ability Life Leech auch noch gut Lifepoints dazubekommen.
Battle:
Mein Gegner wählte unglücklicherweise eine Strategie, die meine etwas kontert, denn Nomos kann meine Magic Attacker deutlich schwächen, was mein Gegner auch getan hat. Ehrlicherweise sieht der Rest seiner Aufstellung aber nicht besonders gefährlich aus und ich weiß nicht ganz, was sein Ziel damit war.
Ich habe mich wenig überraschend für die erste Variante von Lorkus entschieden und habe Arachne Weaver und Barashkukor die Abilities gegeben.
Nach der ersten Runde wurde der Tank meines Gegners bereits besiegt. Außerdem haben meine Monsterkarten mit der Ability Life Leech bereits Lebenspunkte dazugewonnen und die Ability Corrupted Healing hat meine Monster geheilt, sodass ich noch keine Verluste zu verzeichnen hatte.
Nach der zweiten und dritten Runde ist das gegnerische Lineup stark dezimiert und meinem Sieg steht nicht mehr viel im Weg. Aufgrund der guten Balance von Healing aber auch hohen Schaden habe ich außerdem immer noch keine Verluste in meiner Aufstellung.
Wenig überraschend konnte ich das Battle wenig später für mich entscheiden und gewinnen.

Hier ist mir aufgefallen, das der neue Battle Result Screen für solche Blogs nicht optimal ist, da der Name des Gegners und das jeweilige Rating nicht angezeigt wird. Ich mag die Neuerung dieses Screens, aber das sollte in Zukunft vielleicht noch mit eingearbeitet werden.
Letzte Worte:
Magic Attack war schon immer stark und dank Lorkus wird dieser nochmal verbessert. Das macht diese Strategie unter anderem so stark, vor allem weil sie nicht nur offensiv ausgerichtet ist, sondern dank dem Healing auch in der Defensive punkten kann. Ich habe in diesem Battle keine Karten aus dem Fire Splinter gewählt, da sie einfach nicht reingepasst haben, aber in anderen Matchups können diese sehr wohl hilfreich sein.
