Friends of the Movies & TV Shows community, it is a pleasure to share again in the feed of this space. The review I bring you this week is about the movie Winter Spring Summer or Fall (2024), a film of the teenage romantic drama genre, directed by Tiffany Paulsen, who also wrote the script of the production along with Dan Schoffer. From the very beginning I saw the movie available I didn't hesitate to watch it, as I must say I like this kind of story. Now, did it meet my expectations, is it a good story? This and much more I will tell you below. As I have repeated several times, this is an opinion according to my personal experience, not a professional review.

La reseña que les traigo esta semana es sobre la película Las Cuatro estaciones (2024), un filme del género de drama romántico de adolescente, dirigida por Tiffany Paulsen, quien también escribió el guion de la producción junto a Dan Schoffer. Desde un principio que vi la película disponible no dudé en verla, pues debo decir que me gusta este tipo de historia. Ahora bien ¿Cumplió con mis expectativas? ¿Es una buena historia? Esto y mucho más se los contaré a continuación. Como se los he repetido en varias oportunidades, esta es una opinión de acuerdo a mi experiencia persona, no una crítica profesional.

This story tells us about Remi, a smart girl, who has her whole future planned, who wants to study at Harvard to become a lawyer and in the future, a district judge. On the other hand, she (Remi) meets Barnes, a young man who likes to live for the moment, he does not have his life planned, unlike the female protagonist of the story. As you can see, these two people are different, anyone would say that they have nothing in common and therefore there would be no romance. Well, in love no one rules, so these two characters begin to interact, get to know each other and have a connection beyond friendship. I think what I like most about the film is the dilemma that Remi has, whether to continue with his plans or change them to see what the future holds for him, but with the one who could be the love of his life.

Esta historia nos habla de Remi, una chica inteligente, que tiene todo su futuro planeado, que quiere estudiar en Harvard para convertirse en una abogada y en futuro, una juez de un distrito. Por otro lado, esta (Remi) conoce Barnes, un joven que le gusta vivir el momento, no tiene plateada su vida, a diferencia de la protagonista femenina de la historia. Como pueden ver, estos dos personas son distintos, cualquier diría que no tienen nada en común y por ende no habría ningún tipo de romance. Pues en el amor nadie manda, así que estos dos personajes empiezan a interactuar, a conocerse y a tener una conexión más allá de la amistad. Creo que lo que más me gusta del filme es el dilema que tiene Remi, de sí continuar con sus planes o cambiarlos para ver que le depara el futuro, pero junto al que podría ser el amor de su vida.

This film makes us think as a person, that we should do things as we plan them, as in the case of Remi, or we should live life according to the moment, as Barnes thinks. This can be controversial, but I believe that everyone can make their own decision, no one should interfere. Many times we plan everything and even though it happens the way we want, we don't end up being happy. The most important thing of all is to be happy and try to make decisions as they come our way. Try as much as possible to take advantage of opportunities, taking into account the positive and negative aspects of what we have in mind to do. As far as the story itself is concerned, I think it is good and has a lot of potential, but personally I think it was wasted with a simple story and lack of depth in the history of the characters.

Este filme nos pone a pensar como persona, que sí que debemos hacer las cosas tal como la planeamos, como es el caso de Remi o bien, vivimos la vida de acuerdo al momento tal como piensa Barnes. Esto puede traer polémica, pero creo que cada quien puede tomar su decisión, nadie debe interferir. Muchas veces planeamos todo y a pesar de que se da como queremos, no terminamos siendo felices. Lo más importante de todo es ser felices y tratar de ir tomando las decisiones a medida que se nos va presentando en el camino. Tratar en lo posible de aprovechar las oportunidades, tener en cuenta lo positivo y negativo de lo que tengamos en mente hacer. En lo que respecta a la historia en sí me parece bueno y con bastante potencial que en lo personal creo que fue bastante desaprovechada con una historia sencilla y falta de profundidad en la historia de los personajes.

The script is another point that I consider that was not a strong point in this film, simple dialogues and in many occasions without sense. I don't want to say that the film was a disaster, because no, I simply expected more in the depth of what was being told. As for the cast, I must say that Remi was played by Jenna Ortega, while the role of Barnes was played by Percy Hynes White. At first I wasn't expecting so much from these two, but in the end they ended up surprising me, being among the best of the film. Jenna and Percy's connection transcended the screen, the chemistry between these two was noticeable and is something that is always appreciated. The acting of the two was outstanding, each in their roles, but you could feel the feeling of the two when watching the film, we believed that they were in love.

El guion es otro los puntos que considero que no fue un fuerte en esta película, diálogos sencillos y en muchas ocasiones sin sentido. No quiero decir que el filme allá ha sido un desastre, porque no, simplemente me esperaba más en la profundidad de lo que se estaba contando. En cuanto al reparto, debo decir que Remi fue interpretada por Jenna Ortega, mientras que al papel de Barnes fue interpretado por Percy Hynes White. Al principio no me esperaba tanto de estos dos, pero finalmente me terminaron sorprendiendo, siendo de lo mejor del filme. La conexión de Jenna y Percy traspasó la pantalla, se notó la química entre estos dos y es algo que siempre se agradece. La actuación de los dos fue sobresaliente, cada uno en sus papeles, pero se notaba el sentir de los dos al ver la película, nos creíamos como que estaban enamorados.

The soundtrack of the film I think it fulfilled, especially in the most emotional moments of the film Winter Spring, Summer or Fall. I think the cinematography is one of the strongest points of the film, capturing the viewer's attention, especially in the moments of drama and romance, in combination with the natural connection of the protagonists and how they show it in the narrated story. Graham Robbins was in charge of the cinematography. Anyway, this film shows us the youthful plot where two young people fall in love, both are different, but they fall in love, but must make the decision to be together or not, to continue their lives as it was before, or venture out and live life, as I said at the beginning. Quite a touching story, but at times very generic and we were left wanting to see something better executed.

La banda sonora del filme creo que cumplió, sobre todo, en los momentos más emotivos de la película Winter Spring, Summer or Fall. La fotografía si creo que uno de los puntos fuertes de la película, logrando captar la atención del espectador, sobre todo en los momentos de escenas con drama y romance, en combinación con la conexión natural de los protagonistas y como lo dejan ver en la historia narrada. Graham Robbins fue el encargo de la fotografía. En fin, este filme nos muestra la trama juvenil donde dos jóvenes se enamoran, ambos son distintos, pero se llegan a enamorar, pero deben tomar la decisión de estar juntos o no, de continuar sus vidas tal como era antes, o aventurarse y vivir la vida, tal como les dije al principio. Una historia bastante conmovedora, pero por momentos muy genérica y quedamos con ganas de ver algo mejor ejecutado.

Winter Spring Summer or Fall is a film that is fairly straightforward, an interesting story, but poorly executed, with dialogue that leaves a lot to be desired at various points. It wasn't a complete disaster, but I think it had enough potential to be better. The highlights were the performances of the two leads, especially Jenna but the chemistry such that you believed what you were seeing well, the connection between Remi and Barnes.Would I recommend it? If you like this kind of movies, romantic teen dramas, then I think yes, but in the end I think it's not for everyone, it's good to spend a rare, but nothing more.

Winter Spring Summer or Fall es un filme que es bastante sencillo, una historia interesante, pero mal ejecutada, con unos diálogos que dejan mucho que desear en varios momentos. No fue un completo desastre, pero creo que tenía el suficiente potencial para ser mejor. Lo más destacable la actuación de los dos protagonistas, sobre todo de Jenna pero la química tal, que uno creía lo que estaba viendo bien, la conexión entre Remi y Barnes. ¿La recomendaría? Si te gustan esta clase de películas, dramas románticos juveniles, pues opino que sí, pero al final pienso que no es para todo el mundo, sirve para pasar un raro, pero para nada más.
