Conclave Arcana was announced earlier this week. You can check the official announcement post HERE.

I will start by saying that I am taking part in the community testing and I've signed an NDA, so I can't really elaborate on details such as meta, potential OP combos and other stuff not yet available as knowledge to the general public. However, I can say that the new set is really fun and there are some etertaining interactions thanks to the newly introduced bloodlines. Now, let's go over the details of the official post briefly.

image.png

Conclave Arcana (CA) will launch with 82 cards - 24 Common Cards, 29 Rare Cards, 14 Epic Cards and 15 Legendary Cards. I think Rebellion launched with a bit more - about 92 or 94 if I remember correctly (I might not), but there will be additional cards introduced to the set as time goes on - airdrops, promos, a new reward set - so I'm sure it will eventually catch up to RB in terms of size.

CA will introduce 9 new abilities to the game:

  • Painforge: +1 power when damaged by Poisoned or Burning or hit by an ally.
  • Reckless: Each successful attack also deals 1 damage to adjacent allied units.
  • Bloodline Tribute: When defeated, all allied units of the same bloodline gain +1 health, speed, and armor and +1 power to each shared attack type.
  • Resurgence: Self-resurrects once per battle with 100% health and armor. All magic debuffs are removed, and all magic buffs are reapplied. Skips turn. Deals 1 physical damage to all units.
  • Shapeshift: Treated as all bloodlines.
  • Final Rest: Allied and enemy abilities that trigger on defeat cannot activate.
  • Reveal: Each round applies Revealed to a Camouflaged enemy unit. Revealed units can be targeted by direct attacks.
  • Relentless Strike: Attacks deal true damage. Phase and Dodge do not reduce chance to hit.
  • Bloodline Dominion: You can summon any unit of the same bloodline as this archon, regardless of element.

All of them are interesting in one way or another but what definitely is the most important one is Bloodline Dominion. This is the signature CA ability which will bring the specific flavor of the set both to Modern and Wild, and Survival, of course.

As you can see from the picture above the races which will be added (for now) to the game that will have an interaction with specific rare summoners are Dwarves, Orcs, Elves, Ulund and Gnomes. I'm sure in the future we'll get to see more such fun racial combos. The opportunities are endless basically given the fact that the game has such vast lore already and so many different races and factions (splinters).

Now for the packs:

CA will introduce 4 different types of pack for the CA presale and general sale:

  • Standard pack (4,000 DEC - same as before) - 5 cards - with the following chances for each type of card: Common: 75.2%, Rare: 20%, Epic: 4%, Legendary: 0.8%, Gold Foil: 2%
  • Alchemy Pack ( 12,000 DEC -a new type of pack) - 5 cards - Their card rarity and Gold Foil distribution is the same as standard packs, except they contain one guaranteed Gold Foil. So, there's a 100% chance that at least 1 card in the pack is a GF (could be more).
  • Legendary pack (24,000 DEC - a new type of pack) - 5 cards - Their card rarity and Gold Foil distribution is the same as standard packs, except they contain one guaranteed Legendary card. So, there's a 100% chance that at least 1 card in the pack is a Legendary (could be more than one)
  • Starter pack (1,000 DEC - a new type of pack) - 5 cards - one guaranteed Rare card and four more cards that have an 80% chance to be Common and a 20% chance to be Rare. Starter packs will only contain Regular Foil Common and Rare cards. So, the Starter packs could prove to be a good way to amass Common and Rare cards if that is what you are looking for as well as a good way for new players to get involved in the game.

Next on the list - We're finally getting new foils introduced into the game:

  • Black Foil:

Image from thread

Black Foils appear randomly in Conclave Arcana packs as max-level cards with collectible numbering. They cannot be combined.

Other Perks:

  • 20% Reward bonus in ranked battles
    - Half the cooldown of Gold Foil cards in Survival Mode
    - 5x the DEC burn value, Collection Power, and Contribution in Conflicts of Gold Foils
    - 5x base Production Point multiplier (same as Beta cards)

You can only find Black Foils in Conclave Arcana packs. The chances of each card being a Black Foil vary by pack type and are listed below:

  • Standard Packs: 0.025% (1 in 4,000)
  • Alchemy Packs: 0.25% (1 in 400)
  • Legendary Packs: 0.125% (1 in 800)
  • Starter Packs: 0%

So, we can safely say that not a lot of people will have the opportunity to ever be lucky enough to get a Black Foil card but there will always be that slight chance of it occurring, so it will definitely make pack openings feel more epic. You will have to open packs other than Starter, of course. So bear that in mind.

The other two new types of foils are Black Foil Arcane and Gold Foil Arcane.

As you can see they are very shiny and sparkling, so you can definitely tell the difference between them and regular BFs/GFs. Here are the details on how these are obtained:

Arcane cards are pre-minted, max-level cards with collectible numbering.

Gold Foil Arcane Mint Population
Rarity # GFA Per Card

  • Common 50
  • Rare 25
  • Epic 10
  • Legendary 5

Black Foil Arcane Mint Population
Rarity BFA/Card

  • Common 20
  • Rare 10
  • Epic 5
  • Legendary 1

They will distribute Arcane cards in Conclave Arcana packs (except Starter packs), with odds determined by remaining supply and pack weight:

  • Standard = 1x
  • Alchemy = 3x
  • Legendary = 6x
    - Starter = 0x

If you win an Arcane card when you open a pack, the game will choose a random card from the pool and insert it into your draw. Each pack can contain up to one Arcane. Again, these will obviously be even rarer than the BFs, so whoever manages to pull one will definitely be considered extremely lucky. That will definitely make opening packs a lot more lucrative.

Regarding the presale, let's begin the 2 promo cards:

image.png
Every player who purchases packs during the presale can receive exclusive promo cards:

  • One Rare Promo Card (Arcane Skinwalker) for every 40,000 DEC or Credits spent
  • One Legendary Promo Card (Gramel the Hunger) for every 400,000 DEC or Credits spent
Each promo card earned has a 4% chance of being a Gold Foil. Players will also receive one guaranteed Gold Foil of each rarity for every 25 copies earned.

These cards are exclusive to the Conclave Arcana presale and will never be available again!

I've got my opinion on both cards but since it's not a speculation based on the stats but actual playing experience, I can't really share what I think since I'm under NDA (as I've already pointed out). I'll say that both cards are pretty interesting (which is obvious even without me saying it.. :D).

The presale begins on the 22nd of April and end on the 12th of May (or whenever all packs get bought outs). The packs available for the presale are as follows:

  • Standard packs: 500,000 available at 4,000 DEC/Credits each

  • Alchemy packs: 100,000 available at 12,000 DEC/Credits each

  • Legendary packs: 50,000 available at 24,000 DEC/Credits each

  • Starter packs will not be available during the presale.

There will both be an LB for it and a raffle. Here are the details on those:

So, as you can see, there are quite a few rewards you can shoot for. What's even more important is that it takes just 1 4-dollar pack for you to participate in the Raffle. So be sure to get your lottery ticket. ;)

Finally, the General sale begins on the 13th of May. Then everyone will be able to open their CA packs, and more importantly (or most importantly) CL (Chaos Legion) is getting rotated out of Modern. That will mark a new era where CL domination is no longer available to people in Modern, so that will definitely shake up the meta, and the strategies for playing there. Here's how the general sale will progress with time:

There will be the following amounts of different types of packs:

  • 4.5 million Standard packs
  • 900,000 Alchemy packs
  • 450,000 Legendary packs
To ensure the supply of Conclave Arcana meets player demand, a daily burn mechanic will be in effect:

If fewer than 15,000 Standard packs, 3,000 Alchemy packs, or 1,500 Legendary packs are sold in a single day...
90% of each pack’s remaining inventory will be burned
The other 10% will be sent to the sps.dao account for future DAO-controlled use
This ensures that all limited packs are sold or burned within 300 days of the start of general sale.

Now, for my plans regarding the presale and Conclave Arcana in general. Of course, I'm first and foremost a player, and while I did think I would just skip the presale cause I don't really have much dry powder right now (by saying "not much", I mean none :D), I do have 532K Staked SPS, so what I've decided to do is to start unstaking 100% of my stake SPS tomorrow and then, I'm planning to burn as much as 280K SPS (I want to keep 250K since I gotta be purple in Discord, ofc). Hopefully 2 things will happen - SPS will keep going up as the presale approaches and during it and we hit 2.5C-3C or even 4C - who knows, and second the presale won't sell out instantly, so that will give me time to acquire more of the SPS I'll be unstaking. I want to spend 4.4M DEC on the presale so I get max copies of both promo cards. As for the types of packs I'll be shooting for, I might actually go with the whole amount spent on Legendary packs. I'm still not sure about that. Ofc, 4.4M is basically about 30% of what needs to be spent if you want to secure a fully maxed collection on day 1. I'll be stretching myself massively even coming up with that so maxing the deck after that will be a very long (and probably expensive) process.

Over and Out,
