Hoy no les vengo a compartir un proyecto en especial, sino les quiero comentar sobre esta nueva etapa de mi vida entre hilos, agujas, telas y nuevos amigos.
Today, I'm not sharing a specific project, but I wanted to tell you about this new chapter in my life surrounded by threads, needles, fabrics, and some wonderful new friends.
Si bien es cierto que cada comienzo de cualquier proyecto trae nuevas expectativas, a mi edad volver a un salón de clases es una tarea hermosa, pues no solo aprendo o perfecciono un oficio, es algo que va mucho más allá de un patrón, son lazos de amistad que se van formando y afianzando con el paso de los días.
You know how starting any new project brings fresh excitement? Well, going back to a classroom at my age has been such a lovely experience. It's not just about learning or improving a craft; it's so much more than just following a pattern. It's about the friendships that are forming and growing stronger day by day.
Estas 8 semanas en que pude participar de este taller de costura, fue gratificante al poder ayudar a quienes están comenzando en esta aventura creativa de la costura, me dio una visión diferente a la que tenía cuando decidí volver a un taller de costura, en este taller fuimos creciendo todos juntos, nadie adelantaba a nadie, todos estábamos para todos, pues está entre nosotros un chico, logramos hacer un grupo super genial e integrado no solo dentro del aula sino fuera de ella.
These past eight weeks in this sewing workshop have been so rewarding. Being able to help those who are just starting out on this creative sewing journey has given me a different perspective than when I first decided to return to a sewing class. We've all been growing together in this workshop; no one was rushing ahead, and we were all there for each other. We even have a guy in our group, and we've managed to create a truly awesome and close-knit group, not just in the classroom but outside of it too.
Cuando alguno tiene una duda la pasa por el grupo y quien está cerca acude a ayudar y así todos podemos cumplir con cada asignación que se nos da.
Whenever anyone has a question, they'll put it in the group, and whoever is available will help out. This ensures everyone can complete each assignment.
Algo más que me encanta de este taller es que la instructora quiere salir de lo básico o típico, cuando acudimos a un taller de costura por lo general solo imparten blusa, falda y pantalón básico, pero ella quiere que aprendamos lo que esta de moda, salir de lo convencional y así poder innovar y emprender, esto es lo que me encanta.
Something else I absolutely love about this workshop is that our instructor wants to move beyond the basics. Usually, when you go to a sewing class, they only teach you how to make a basic blouse, skirt, and pants. But she wants us to learn what's trendy, to step outside the box so we can innovate and even start our own thing. That's what I'm really excited about!
