Today we took our stand-up paddleboard and paddled around one kilometer from Bjelila to the small magical Island Gospa od Milosrda
We started our paddling tour in the marina of the small fishing village Bjelila.
This is a screenshot from a I shoot last spring when I flew over the island.
The Island Gospa od Milo (which means Our Lady of Mercy) has a fascinating history reaching back thousands of years.
"...it is known that the island Our Lady of Mercy
has been a place of great religious ceremonies
of different nationalities for thousands of years.
For example, carved stone altars are found here,
dedicated to the wife of Jupiter - the beautiful Juno Lucina,
that were left behind by the ancient Romans,
greeting their gods here."
You can find this and more interesting information about this place --> here.
When approaching the island we have been greeted by two barking dogs which soon turned out to be very friendly.
The coastal town on the other side of the bay is Herceg Novi.
In the background the Lovćen Mountains
The church with the monastery.
The campanile...
In the background is the Bay of Kotor with Tivat on the right side.
I didn't want to take the risk bringing my Nikon on the paddle board thus I just used my phone to take these pictures.
