It is just another busy day for me as I work on all my teaching license papers. Come with me as I get to visit the Professional Regulation Commission Region 7 which is located at HVG Arcade, Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines.
From my hometown, Caduawan, Tabogon, Cebu, I rode a public utility vehicle to Cebu City. It is approximately a three to four-hour drive from our hometown to Cebu City.
One of the many things I love about travelling from my hometown to the city is the view en route to the city. We will pass by so many beaches. It is pleasing to the eyes. A relaxing view indeed.
There are a lot of beach views especially when you pass by Catmon, Carmen and Danao. Some of the many best views while heading to the city or heading north.
Cebu North Bus Terminal - SM CITY CEBU OUTDOOR PARKING LOT (Cebu City, Philippines)
You will be dropped off at SM Cebu City where the Cebu North Bus Terminal is. From there, I took a motorcycle taxi on my way to the Professional Regulation Commission Office. It was scorching hot noon and I had no more energy left in me to walk towards the jeepney stopover so I booked a motorcycle taxi. Here in the Philippines, there are a lot of them such as Angkas, Move It, Maxim, Joy Ride, and many others. It is indeed convenient because it is cheaper than a taxi and it helps you reach your destination much faster.
The rider came and he dropped me off at the Cebu North Bus Terminal going to the Professional Regulation Commission Region 7 office at HVG Arcade, Mandaue City, Cebu.

After all my errands at PRC, I rode a jeepney to SM City Cebu, one of the biggest malls here in the city to grab some late lunch. I met up with my Beau because it was his lunch break at his work as well. A quick catch-up over lunch before I head back to my hometown in Caduawan, Tabogon, Northern Cebu.
Ribshack SM City Cebu Branch
Ribshack is one of our go-to restaurants and definitely one of our favourites because they serve grilled foods with unlimited rice. As Filipinos, rice is our staple food so each meal would never be complete without rice.
Ribshack is a Filipino restaurant that originated in Bacolod City, Philippines and they have been known for serving grilled foods paired with the Filipino's favourite unlimited rice. We ate here at Ribshack SM City Cebu Mabolo branch which is located on the ground floor of the mall. It is very easy to locate because they have bright lights and huge signage.
What’s Inside Ribshack SM City Cebu Branch?
It was almost two o’clock when we went there but there were still so many people. As seen in the photos, there is enough space for customers because this branch that they have here is quite spacious. As far as I know, there are three Ribshack branches here in Cebu City: one in SM City Mabolo, one in SM City Seaside, and one in Super Metro Colon. There is also one Ribshack branch at Sm Hypermarket Lapu-Lapu and another branch yet to open at Island Central Mall Lapu-Lapu City. For those with children, they also have baby high chairs available.
We ordered grilled Blue Marlin which is ₱100.00 per 100 grams and an additional 25 for unlimited rice. We also had spare ribs for ₱125 with unlimited rice. An additional ₱45 each for their cucumber juice. Each meal has a free side dish of “atchara” or pickled pawpaw. It is a perfect combination indeed.
There are a lot of food choices here and mostly, it comes with unlimited rice. For your preference, here are some foods that can be found in Ribshack :
➣ Grilled Spare Ribs ₱125 with unlimited rice
➣ Grilled Chicken Paa ₱155 with unlimited rice and ₱145 for ala carte
➣ Grilled Chicken Pecho for ₱175 with unlimited rice and ₱165 for ala carte
➣ Grilled Hungarian Sausage for ₱119 with unlimited rice and ₱109 for ala carte
➣ Grilled beef kebab (3 sticks) for ₱195 with unlimited rice and ₱60 per stick for just the kebab alone
And so much more!
Of course, what is a lunch date without the mandatory selfie? We took photos as we normally do and we then chitchatted about how the week went. It was indeed such a busy week for both of us. Him for work and me for my parents as well. It is always nice to have someone to share your thoughts with. It was a quick catch-up because he only had a few hour's breaks and I had to head home as he needed to resume work as well. He walked with me at the Cebu North Bus Terminal which is a walking distance from the mall where we had our lunch. It is where he will ride the jeepney as well as he goes to his workplace.
As we headed out, we passed by SM Cebu food court because that is the exit nearest to the bus terminal and we were intrigued by the banderitas or little flags hanging all over the place.
SM CITY CEBU Food Festival
Instead of their Food Fest, it made sense why there were a lot of banderitas or party flags hanging all around the place. It was indeed festive at the food court.
Jojie’s Painitan Central At SM City Cebu Food Court
We stopped by at Jojie’s Painitan Central here at the food court. Painitan is a Cebuano term for a snack place or a snack bar. Us Filipinos we, are fond of pamainit. Init is a Cebuano word for hot. When you do pamainit it means drinking a hot coffee, hot chocolate, or hot tea. Anything hot. That is what pamainit means.
Here at Jojie’s Painitan Central, you’ll find all the best Filipino delicacies we all pair up with hot chocolate ouorot coffee when we do our ”pamainit”.
Here are some of the Filipino delicacies that can be found in Jojie’s Painitan Central at SM City Cebu Food Court :
We ordered a cup of hot chocolate paired with link and peche peche. It was indeed the best! How I love these delicacies is much!
Nilusak or Nilupak is a Filipino delicacy made from cooked banana, butter sugar or sweetened milk. The banana is mashed or pounded and then mixed with sweetened sugar. It is one of the best Filipino delicacies we have. Meanwhile; peche peche is another Filipino delicacy that is made of cassava and somewhat the same process as how linusak is made.
After all the things we ate, it was finally time to walk to the Cebu North Bus Terminal. No more passing by anywhere. Straight ahead to the destination. Lo
As soon as I sat on the bus, it rained. What a perfect timing indeed. Just in time! Who else loves traveling when it’s raining? Nothing compares to listening to mellow music while traveling with raindrops all over the bus window. Time to go home. What a productive day! I was recharged with all the things we ate! Ciao!
