Weekdays are for work and weekends are for home errands and all the extra stuff. This weekend, we decided to work on our garage to give our car enough space rather than parking on the barangay road.

The establishment we will be transforming used to be our sari-sari store or a mini convenience store. Since we stopped selling, it has been unused and there is no better way to make use of it than to turn it into a garage.

Having a sari-sari store here in the Philippines especially here in our area is really not the best business to have. Almost all of our neighbors are our families and relatives and they always have debts and tend to forget paying it therefore the capital will never have a return of investment. It is a waste of energy and money.

Whenever you say "no" they will take it negatively and think that you are selfish and you do not know how to share your blessings. I wonder where that mentality comes from.

That is why we chose to stop selling because it turns out to be just giving out, instead of doing business.

Since we got our car, we do not have any proper garage to park it so we decided to transform this old store of ours into a garage.

My partner helped out my uncles as they cut the steel so that it will have an open space for our car to park.

It turned out well and this is how it looks like now.

We can now park our car and one motorcycle . It is not that much of a space but atleast our car can now be safe from the sun and the rain.

After the work we did, we had some boodle lunch. We ate using our hands in this banana leaf. We do if often when we are here in the province to minimize the usage of utensils since we take turns washing the dishes.

This is one thing I love most living in rural areas near family members, not all their work needs to be paid with cash, but a simple thank you and a simple lunch is more than enough for them.

The steel they cut out was sold at the junk shop for ₱1,500.00. We bought some viand and some soda and beer for everyone to indulge in.

It was a productive weekend and we really made use of our vacant time to do some home improvements. Kudos to these hardworking men.

To more house improvements soon! Ciao!❤️
