This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.
Last weekend was a bit of a random weekend. The previous week was hectic. Before I knew it, the weekend was upon us...lol!
On Saturday, I caught up on some work in the morning, and I watched a rugby match on television in the afternoon.
On Sunday we were to attend a church service in Umhlanga. The service only started at 10h15 in the morning though. So, I suggested to my wife that we leave a bit earlier and take the camera with us to see if we could get some photos before going to church.
Seeing that I didn't have anything planned, the first destination that popped into my mind was the Whalebone Pier in Umhlanga.
However, when we arrived at the pier, it was closed for maintenance work and we could not get access to it.
I started taking random photos and it went better than expected...lol.
In my first photo, you can see the beach just below the Whalebone Pier (to the south), with some rocks visible in the distance. The Umhlanga Lighthouse is just above those rocks.
In my next photo, you can see the Umhlanga Lighthouse. You can see the rocks just below it.
It looked like the tide was busy coming in...
As mentioned earlier, the Whalebone Pier was now to my left.
I loved watching some of the waves breaking against the pier.
Standing next to the Whalebone Pier, looking out over the ocean.
Moving to the other side of the pier. I preferred taking shots from this side, looking away from the sun.
Then it was time to leave and we started our walk toward the car.
Just before we arrived at the car, I saw the Oyster Box Hotel come into sight behind these two palm trees in front of the Beverley Hills Hotel. I thought it would make a nice photo.
During our walk on the beach, we just happened to be at the right place at the right time, as a boat just arrived back on the beach after being out at sea.
They started preparing to get the boat back on its trailer and I was able to get some nice photos of the boat.
I will share some of these photos in another post tomorrow.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
