Thursday was a busy day for me. I traveled to the city to process my parents' birth certificates from the PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority) and marriage license in order to transfer my father's pension to my mother. When I returned home at night, I was shocked to see that our home was occupied with retired military personnel, friends of my father, and old coworkers with their wives.
Returning to the subject of the Sisters Date, we decided to pick a spot for lunch after receiving the PSA certificates. Despite the unfortunate circumstances we are in, I make the most of my short bereavement leave, which I utilize to spend time with my family.
We discovered a restaurant in the mall, below the escalator, where the PSA office is situated. The Giligan's restaurant had just recently opened. Its marine-themed interior that captivated me. I earned that its name was gotten from the '80s television program Giligan Island. Perhaps the owner was a fan of it.
Filipino lechon kawali, roasted chicken, soups, sizzling sisig, pig, shrimp, and chicken sinigang, pansit, seafood, and other well-known Filipino dishes and delicacies are all featured on the restaurant's popular menu. The hottest meal on the menu is those with unlimited rice and drink offer.
That day, I decided to order a large bowl of chicken sinigang because my stomach wasn't feeling good. It's a type of stew made with natural ingredients like tamarind and green pepper that has sour and savory flavors. Years had passed since my last meal of sinigang, and I craved for it. Homemade Filipino food tastes distinctly different from those produced with a lot of MSG.
The large bowl can serve up to four people. We ordered rice and water because we didn't like the other drinks on the menu. I drank a lot of the soup because it was so flavorful. It managed to soothe my upset tummy in some way. Actually, there was just too much air in my stomach, which caused flatulence.
After that, we headed to a mall to buy groceries for my family and funeral necessities. While comparing the costs from six years ago to now, I could really feel the inflation. The weight of the costs has increased by double. Few items can be purchased with a thousand dollar cash. I couldn't help but sigh and scratch my head.
Anyway, when I had finished my shopping, it was already dark. That evening, I came to understand how difficult it is to return to our town at night. We waited quite a long time in line before leaving for home around eight in the evening.

It was an exhausting day, yet happy to do something for my father's wake, and spend some quality time with my sisters. At night, I stayed awake to do vigil for my father, so I had some time doing some stuff online.
