Hello everyone, it's time for a Wednesday walk! ๐ This is my entry for the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay.
When I was in Slovenia a few weeks ago, during a very short visit to Celje, I thought - this will be the shortest Wednesday walk I've had so far! ๐
Before we arrived at the final destination Lasko, we stopped in Celje, the third largest city in Slovenia and planned to visit it.
But my kids were so impatient to get to Lasko and bath in the pools, that they refused to walk and were very annoying.
As soon as we stepped into Celje, we already had to go back. ๐
But we still managed to see a small part of the city, just enough to spark the imagination and leave us longing to return for more.
I noticed pastel facades and relaxed cafes where locals chatted.
I was surprised when we passed by a church that looked like an institution from the outside and the door was open.
People were coming in and out, so we took a peek inside.
My attention was drawn to the original preserved remains of the walls.
It was very warm and sunny weather. I also liked the parking for e bikes, which are rare to see in my city. In Slovenia, people care about the environment and protect it and I appreciate that very much.
At the very end of the walk, we managed to see a market with a variety of fruits and vegetables.
We definitely have to visit Celje again and see all the sights and beauties of this city that we unfortunately missed this time because of the kids.
Thank you for reading and happy Wednesday! ๐
