Hello everyone, dear Movies and TV Shows community, I hope you are doing great today, on this occasion, I want to share with you all a unique review, and it is that I recently re-watched this gem with my nephew, it truly is a one-of-a-kind movie, one that marked many childhoods and quickly became a favorite of millions of people. Today I bring you a retro review of: The Incredibles! For me, at the time, superheroes were more than just costumes and weird powers, they were family. Now, as an older kid, I re-watched this gem and realized that beneath all that action and color, there was a ton of hidden stuff. It's like reuniting with a childhood friend.
Suddenly, you realize a lot of details that you didn't even notice before... one of the first things that blew my mind was seeing how the movie keeps talking about us, about our society. Obviously, as a kid you loved explosions and epic fights, but now as an adult, you realize the subtle message: how sometimes we don't value our heroes, even normal people! The movie is critical, but with humor, that vibe of how we always expect miracles, but never thank those who save our skins... it's as if the movie was saying to you: "Maybe we should value the real heroes a little more."
And if you're like me, an internet addict, and can't help but smile when you remember the number of memes that came out of this movie... every time I see a reference or a clip circulating, I realize that "The Incredibles" isn't just a movie, it's a cultural phenomenon, my friend! Now, let's talk about what really makes this movie a gem: its characters and how they tell us the story... the movie has EVERYTHING: comedy that kills you with laughter, action that leaves you breathless, a villain who, although not perfect, is scary, but at the same time you identify with him, and a family story that touches your heart, there is an incredible mix of laughter and emotion, and each character, from the protagonist to the one who comes out as an extra, adds something unique to the story.
Hola a todos, querida comunidad de Movies and TV Shows, espero que se encuentren genial en el día de hoy, en esta ocasión, quiero compartir con todos ustedes una reseña única, y es que recientemente volví a ver está joya con mi sobrino, realmente es una película única en su clase, que marcó muchas infancias y que se convirtió rápidamente en la favorita de millones de personas.. hoy les traigo una retro reseña de: Los Increíbles! Para mí, en ese momento, los superhéroes eran más que disfraces y poderes raros, eran una familia.. ahora, ya más grandecito, volví a ver esta joya y me di cuenta de que debajo de toda esa acción y color, había un montón de cosas escondidas.. es como reencontrarte con un amigo de la infancia.
De repente, te das cuenta de un montón de detalles que antes ni registrabas.. una de las primeras cosas que me voló la cabeza fue ver cómo la película sigue hablando de nosotros, de nuestra sociedad, obvio, de niño te encantaban las explosiones y las peleas épicas, pero ahora de grande, uno se da cuenta del mensaje sutil: cómo a veces no valoramos a nuestros héroes, ¡incluso a la gente normal! La película crítica, pero con humor, esa onda de que siempre esperamos milagros, pero nunca agradecemos a los que nos salvan el pellejo.. es como si la peli te dijera: "Capaz que deberíamos valorar un poquito más a los verdaderos héroes".
Y si tu como yo, un enfermo del internet, no puedes evitar sonreír cuando te acuerdas de la cantidad de memes que salieron de esta película.. cada vez que veo alguna referencia o un clip dando vueltas por ahí, me doy cuenta de que "Los Increíbles" no es solo una película, es un fenómeno cultural, amigo! Ahora, hablemos de lo que realmente hace que esta película sea una joya: sus personajes y cómo nos cuentan la historia.. la peli lo tiene TODO: comedia que te mata de risa, acción que te deja sin aliento, un villano que, aunque no sea perfecto, da miedito, pero a la vez te identificas con él, y una historia familiar que te llega al corazón, hay una mezcla increíble de risa y emoción, y cada personaje, desde el protagonista hasta el que sale de extra, suma algo único a la historia.
Let's talk about Elastigirl! I mean, she's not just a mom with powers, she's a total bad ass! She's amazing under pressure, she handles the complicated things about being a superhero and at the same time takes care of her family, I've always admired her a lot, she's a true icon, her bravery goes beyond the physical, you know what I mean? Seeing her in action reminded me of other great characters from my childhood, and the way she faces everything that comes her way is seriously admirable, she's more than a pretty body and a pretty face, she's a true heroine, human and relatable. Then we have Mr. Incredible, I loved how the movie shows that internal struggle he has, between his times of glory as a famous superhero and "normal" family life... his frustrations feel so real, but how he revalues what truly matters, it's touching and sincere.
It reminds you that sometimes, our greatest superpower isn't flying or having great strength, but knowing how to love, persevere, and adapt, even when life turns upside down. And how could we forget Syndrome? This villain has an origin story that captivates you, but at the same time makes you feel sorry for him. He was born out of pure envy and a desperate need for recognition. He started out as a frustrated Mr. Incredible fan... his transformation into a supposed hero who ends up being a bitter villain is an interesting study of how obsession and broken dreams can destroy you from the inside... Obviously, some will say his motivation is kind of weak compared to other classic villains, but he seemed human to me, you know? It makes you wonder: what if your worst enemy wasn't something external, but your own inability to value the people who appreciate and admire you?
Hablemos de Elastigirl! O sea, no es solo una mamá con poderes, es una bad ass total! Es increíble bajo la presión, maneja lo complicado de ser superheroína y al mismo tiempo cuida a su familia, siempre la he admirado un montón, es un ícono de verdad, su valentía va más allá de lo físico, ¿me entiendes? Verla en acción me hizo acordar a otros personajes geniales de mi infancia, y es que la forma en que enfrenta todo lo que se le cruza, es de admirar en serio, es más que un cuerpo bonito y una cara bonita, es todos una heroína de verdad, humana y identificable.. Después tenemos a Mr. Increíble, me encantó cómo la peli muestra esa lucha interna que tiene, entre sus épocas de gloria como superhéroe famoso y la vida "normal" en familia.. sus frustraciones se sienten tan reales, pero cómo vuelve a valorar lo que de verdad importa, es conmovedor y sincero.
Te recuerda que a veces, nuestro superpoder más grande no es volar o tener gran fuerza, sino saber amar, perseverar y adaptarnos, incluso cuando la vida se pone patas arriba. Y, ¿cómo olvidarnos de Síndrome? este villano tiene una historia de origen que te atrapa, pero a la vez te da lástima, nació de la pura envidia y de una necesidad desesperada de que lo reconozcan. Empezó como un fanático frustrado de Mr. Increíble.. su cambio a un supuesto héroe que termina siendo un villano amargado, es un estudio interesante de cómo la obsesión y los sueños rotos te pueden destrozar por dentro.. obvio, algunos dirán que su motivación es medio flojita comparada con otros villanos clásicos, pero a mí me pareció humano, ¿sabes? Te deja pensando: ¿y si tu peor enemigo no fuera algo de afuera, sino tu propia incapacidad de valorar a las personas que te aprecian y admiran?
I have to talk about the Latin American dubbing of "The Incredibles"! For us Spanish speakers, this version gives the movie an incredible vibe, it makes it much more ours... seriously, for me, it surpasses the original English version in terms of emotion and how the characters feel (mind you, with the exception of Lucio's line, which in English has something to it!). This dubbing adds a lot to the characters and scenes, it makes the movie even cooler for new generations, classic Edna Moda dialogues, like the typical "No CAPES" or the iconic: Coincidence? I DON'T THINK IT! These are dialogues that left their mark on everyone in a generation, they really are pure gold...
Another thing I love is how the movie handles the theme of family, "The Incredibles" is not just about punches and explosions here and there; It is, above all, a family that learns to work as a team and support each other... each one has their own abilities, and together they are much more powerful than if they were separate, whether in emotional moments where they help each other or in comic scenes that show the disaster of having superpowers at home, the film reminds us that true heroism is born from unity and respect... it is a lesson that hits hard, especially now that sometimes individualism gets the better of us and we forget about family or counting on others to reach our potential.
And speaking of lessons, one of the deepest things in the film is that of finding your own strength, it tells you, without saying it directly, that you don't have to copy anyone to be great; you just have to accept yourself as you are and let your talents shine.. this idea is also seen in the story of Incrediboy (Syndrome), who by wanting to imitate Mr. Incredible went down the dark path.. his story is a warning of how dangerous it is to want to be someone you are not, and reminds us that true power comes from within oneself.
Tengo que hablar del doblaje latino de "Los Increíbles"! Para nosotros, los que hablamos español, esta versión le da una onda increíble a la película, la hace mucho más nuestra.. en serio, para mí, supera a la original en inglés en cuanto a emoción y cómo se sienten los personajes (ojo, ¡con la excepción de la frase de Lucio, que en inglés tiene un no sé qué!). Este doblaje le suma un montón a los personajes y a las escenas, hace que la peli sea aún más genial para las nuevas generaciones, diálogos clásicos de Edna Moda, como el típico "Sin CAPAS" O el icónico: ¿Coincidencia? NO LO CREO! Son diálogos que quedaron marcados en todos una generación, realmente son oro puro..
Otra cosa que me encanta es cómo la película maneja el tema de la familia, "Los Increíbles" no es solo golpes y explosiones por aquí y por allá; es, antes que nada, una familia que aprende a trabajar en equipo y a apoyarse mutuamente.. cada uno tiene sus propias habilidades, y juntos son mucho más poderosos que si fueran por separado, ya sea en momentos emotivos donde se ayudan entre todos o en escenas cómicas que muestran el desastre que es tener superpoderes en casa, la película nos recuerda que el verdadero heroísmo nace de la unión y el respeto.. es una lección que pega fuerte, sobre todo ahora que a veces el individualismo nos gana y nos olvidamos de la familia o el de contar con otros para alcanzar nuestra potencial.
Y hablando de lecciones, una de las cosas más profundas de la peli es eso de encontrar tu propia fuerza, te dice, sin decirlo directamente, que no tienes que copiar a nadie para ser genial; solo tienes que aceptarte como eres y dejar que tus talentos brillen.. esta idea también se ve en la historia de Incrediboy (Síndrome), que por querer imitar a Mr. Increíble se fue por el camino oscuro.. su historia es una advertencia de lo peligroso que es querer ser alguien que no eres, y nos recuerda que el verdadero poder sale de adentro de uno mismo.
The action scenes in this movie are next level! The final fights, especially against the Omnidroid and Syndrome, were great, they aged super well, they keep you glued to your seat, but immediately they tell you a joke that kills you with laughter... one second you're there, tense, attentive to what happens, and the next, boom!, a joke that relaxes you in the best way... that not only makes the movie funnier, but it reminds you that even in the middle of disaster, there's always a chance to laugh with such charismatic characters... that's what sets it apart from many superhero movies today, which sometimes forget about humor and just throw special effects at you everywhere, and when they focus on humor, everything revolves around that, making the whole plot ridiculous with pure stupid jokes, cough* cough* Marvel cough*.
And speaking of modern superhero movies, I have to say that "The Incredibles" is still my favorite because of how daring and original it was... nowadays, many movies play it safe, with the same old clichés and stories that you already know how they end, but "The Incredibles" dared to mix everything: comedy, action, drama, even social criticism!, and it did it in a way that is still great and exciting, after all these years! It reminds you of those times when superhero movies weren't just about visual effects, but they also made you think and touched your heart in many ways. And obviously, I can't fail to mention "Incredibles 2", the sequel, mind you, visually it is superior and the animation improved, but the story and the characters don't even come close to the original. "Incredibles 2" doesn't have that magic and heart that made the first film a classic, I appreciate that they wanted to modernize it visually, but the message of the sequel is kind of confusing and the characters don't hook you in as much. For me, it falls short, a continuation that disappointed me a little. I give it a 6.5/10, but to the first one, to the original Incredibles movie, I give it a 9.8 out of 10.
It's a movie that goes beyond being just a superhero movie... it's a trip down memory lane, back to when we believed in the magic of superheroes, but it also speaks to you as an adult with its critiques of society and its moving way of showing what a family is... from the action scenes that leave you breathless to the humor that is perfectly placed, it's a movie that continues to surprise, entertain, and inspire... for those of us who grew up with it, it's a reminder of how much we've changed, and perhaps an invitation to remember those simpler times of childhood, I'd love to know what you guys think of this classic. Las escenas de acción de esta película, son de otro nivel! Las peleas finales, sobre todo contra el Omnidroid y Síndrome, fueron genial, envejecieron súper bien, te mantienen pegado al asiento, pero al toque te sueltan un chiste que te mata de risa.. es que en un segundo estás ahí, tenso, atento a lo que pasa, y al siguiente, ¡pum!, un chiste que te relaja todo de la mejor manera.. eso no solo hace que la peli sea más divertida, sino que te recuerda que hasta en el medio del desastre, siempre hay chance para reírse con personajes tan carismáticos.. eso es lo que la diferencia de muchas pelis de superhéroes de ahora, que a veces se olvidan del humor y solo te tiran efectos especiales por todos lados, y cuando se enfocan en el humor, todo gira en torno a eso, haciendo toda la trama ridícula con puros chistes pendejos, cof* cof* Marvel cof*.
Y hablando de pelis de superhéroes modernas, tengo que decir que "Los Increíbles" sigue siendo mi favorita por lo arriesgada y original que fue.. hoy en día, muchas pelis van a lo seguro, con clichés de siempre y historias que ya sabes cómo terminan, pero "Los Increíbles" se animó a mezclar de todo: comedia, acción, drama, ¡hasta crítica social!, y lo hizo de una forma que sigue siendo genial y emocionante, ¡después de tantos años! Te recuerda a esas épocas en que las pelis de superhéroes no eran solo efectos visuales, sino que también te hacían pensar y te llegaban al corazón de muchas maneras.. Y obvio, no puedo dejar de mencionar "Los Increíbles 2", la secuela, ojo, visualmente es superior y la animación mejoró, pero la historia y los personajes no le llegan ni a los talones a la original.. "Los Increíbles 2" no tiene esa magia y ese corazón que hicieron de la primera película un clásico, aprecio que quisieron modernizarla visualmente, pero el mensaje de la secuela es medio confuso y los personajes no te enganchan tanto.. para mí, se queda corta, una continuación que me decepcionó un poco. Le doy un 6.5/10, pero a la primera, a la película original de Los Increíbles le doy 9.8 de 10.
Es una película que va más allá de ser solo una película de superhéroes.. es un viaje a la nostalgia, a cuando creíamos en la magia de los superhéroes, pero también te habla como adulto con sus críticas a la sociedad y su forma conmovedora de mostrar lo que es una familia.. desde las escenas de acción que te dejan sin aliento hasta el humor que está metido de manera perfecta, es una película que sigue sorprendiendo, divirtiendo e inspirando.. para los que crecimos con ella, es un recordatorio de cuánto hemos cambiado, y quizás una invitación a recordar esos tiempos más simples de la infancia, me encantaría saber qué piensan ustedes de este clásico. ¿Notaron algo nuevo al volver a verla? ¿Qué les parece cómo la película combina la comedia con la acción?
