Greetings everyone, the rainy season has already begun here. Although here in Peru it's due to meteorological phenomena, I live in the northern part of the country, and it's an area that is severely affected when it rains. Twenty-four hours ago, I had read a news report about a phenomenon and that rain was expected for the next 72 hours. Indeed, today I woke up and it was raining.
The peculiarity of this is that in this city there is no drainage system; that's right, there is no sewage system... And although one thing is certain and that is that it rarely rains in this city, since I moved here I've had bad experiences. Two years ago, while I was working, something similar happened. It rained for about three or four hours straight. It wasn't a heavy rain, and then everything flooded, there were natural disasters, landslides, and even deaths. I remember leaving work that night and the water reached my knees. The electricity was also affected throughout the city.
Today I woke up and saw the streets like this, and the fear returned. This is where I live, but other surrounding areas were worse, with more flooding. I hope it's not a disaster like that one, as the next two days of rain are still expected. This affects everyone in the city. Unfortunately, I couldn't go to work today. My workday was canceled, and it was just some extra money I was really looking forward to because this month has been very difficult for me. I've had expenses that I hadn't budgeted for.
Saludos gente, por aquí ya empezó una temporada de lluvias, aunque aquí en Perú se debe a fenómenos meteorológicos, yo vivo en la zona norte del país y es una zona donde se ve muy afectada cuando hay lluvias. Hace 24 horas atrás había leído una noticia de que había un fenómeno y que se esperaban lluvias por las próximas 72 horas, efectivamente el día de hoy desperté y estaba lloviendo.
La particularidad de esto, es que en esta ciudad no hay drenaje, así es, no hay desagüe... Y aunque una cosa sí es cierto y es que en esta ciudad rara vez llueve, pero desde que yo me mudé aquí he tenido malas experiencias, hace 2 años mientras trabajaba sucedió algo similar, llovió por alrededor de 3 o 4 horas seguidas, no era una lluvia intensidad y luego de eso, todo se desbordó, hubo desastres naturales, derrumbes y hasta fallecidos. Recuerdo salir del trabajo ese día en la noche y el agua me llegaba por las rodillas, la electricidad también se vio afectada en toda la ciudad.
Hoy desperté y vi las calles así, y el miedo volvió, esto es donde vivo yo pero en otras zonas aledañas, estaban peor, había mayor inundación. Yo espero que no sea un desastre como aquella vez, ya que todavía se esperan los siguientes 2 días de lluvias. Esto nos afecta a todos en la ciudad, lamentablemente no pude ir a trabajar hoy, cancelaron mi jornada de trabajo y justamente era un dinero extra que estaba ansiando tener porque este mes ha sido muy difícil para mí, me han surgido gastos que no tenía presupuestados.
