So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the second topic for this week, which is “NO MORE HOMEWORK”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “POPULATION”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts on the government trying various means to control the rising or declining population in their countries. And one instance of this is having to incentivise birth control methods.
We got to see how having a declining population can have adverse effects on a nation, and in the same way, having a population larger than the resources it can cater to will also end up being a huge problem. This is not an easy issue to deal with, and a mere incentive might not be enough to handle it.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w164e1 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.

This author told us that population is one thing that requires balance, because the lack of one in the ecosystem can lead to the damage of that ecosystem. He sees the incentives to have kids only serve to increase the population in a way that only depletes the limited resources available. However, having fewer kids can also be incentivised as well, so there will be a proper balance.

For this author, he suggested the kind of incentives that could be provided for parents who choose to practice family planning the proper way. Incentives like subsidizing education and healthcare for such families would definitely go a long way in motivating them to consider family planning and stick to it.
THE CHANGING CONCEPT OF FAMILY @xlety
For this author, she shared with us just how vastly the concept of family has changed over the years. The need to have multiple kids has greatly reduced and people are seeking new ways to have families. The government seeing the need to limit the number of children a family can have is an intelligent move, and it could very well lead to a radical change.
