Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 169, Edition 01 of our Weekly Featured Content.

So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the first topic for this week, which is “ROBOT HELP”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “THE PERFECT BABY”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts on modifying the genes of babies before birth, so that once they come into the world, they’d do so with specific traits that the parents want for them. This is a case of deciding the kind of baby that a parent could want.

We got to see different opinions on this. There were those who supported the idea and said that they would take advantage of such an innovation. Others weren't so enthusiastic; they saw it as unethical and rather embraced human imperfections for what it is. Total perfection isn’t possible, and everyone can do well to find contentment in what they’ve got.

For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w168e3 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.

BABIES ARE NOT PRODUCTS TO SELECT by @intishar

This author told us that going only for babies that are perfect would, no doubt, have a long-lasting effect on society as a whole. Choosing a baby based on specific qualities that they possess would mean that it's basically a product, seeing how prospective parents get to pick and choose the traits that the baby comes with.

CREATING A PERFECT CHILD THROUGH GENETIC ENGINEERING by @emrysjobber

For this author, he told us that the world is run by the desires of humans, and in this case, ethics are not really the focal point. What matters the most is what the prospective parents believe in and what they’re willing to do. The traits don’t just make a child extraordinary, nurturing is equally important and impactful. Without good nurturing, the perfect baby might not turn out so well.

IN SEARCH OF PERFECTION @ladyaryastark

For this author, she told us that in the search for the perfect baby, there are a lot of ethical and morally gray areas. She believes that pregnancy should be approached with maturity, and science should be used as a reliable tool. That way, parents would have an idea of all their options before trying to conceive. Such knowledge can go a long way for parents having children.

All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (@melinda010100) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.

But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:

GENE EDITING AND THE FUTURE OF HUMANITY: SHOULD WE CREATE ‘PERFECT’ CHILDREN? by @manclar

IS IT REALLY WORTH CREATING THE PERFECT BABY? by @xlety

PERFECTION AT WHAT COST? by @nkemakonam89

These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional.

ROBOT HELP

“If there were robots that could do every chore perfectly in the house, from cleaning to cooking and taking care of kids, would you get one of them? If it takes over all your chores, what then will you use the free time to do? Won't this only make humans more dependent on robots? Please share your thoughts.”
