Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 173, Edition 01 of our Weekly Featured Content.
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the first topic for this week, which is “PHYSICAL SKILLS”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “DOCTORS ON STRIKE”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us their thoughts on doctors going on strike and the effect such an extreme act could have on society at large. There are those who have experienced such actions and others who know just how risky it could be.
We got to see the effect that such a strike action would have, the number of lives that it would place in jeopardy, and how things might get worse. But then, doctors have a right as well to be heard by the government, and taking things to the extreme might be the only way they can. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w172e3 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
DOCTOR’S STRIKE IS ALSO ACCEPTABLE AS LONG AS IT’S REASONABLE by @intishar
This author told us that nothing is more important than health, but being a doctor is not easy. They’re humans and, as such, have the right to voice their displeasure to the government. One of the best ways to get this is through strike actions. But then, while they have a right to do it, the ethics of such an act may be questioned, seeing how lives could be placed on the line as a result.
THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM OF MY COUNTRY, NIGERIA: WHERE EXACTLY DO WE START FROM? by @sperosamuel15
For this author, he has seen that the health sector has suffered greatly from abandonment and neglect from the government, which is what makes it so dangerous. Being grossly underfunded and understaffed, it poses challenges both to the patients and the doctors who try to keep it running. He feels that a strike action would only make things worse, and what is needed is a political shift, one that will change the direction of the entire country at large.
PUBLIC HEALTH AND THE OPTION TO GO ON STRIKE @shiftrox
For this author, he told us about the condition of the health sector in Brazil, especially the public sector, which is more difficult, despite being the more affordable option. From a lack of adequate resources, delayed salaries, and crazy work schedules, it’s a system that’s chaotic and can be really frustrating. He believes that a strike action will make a difference, but it has to be well thought-out and planned. That’s the only way it’ll be worth it.
All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (@melinda010100) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.
But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:
WHEN DOCTORS STRIKE: IS IT UNETHICAL OR A CRY FOR CHANGE? by @idksamad78699
NOT EVERYTHING IS SOLVED BY GOING ON STRIKE by @xlety
GOVERNMENT ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE HEALTH SECTOR: WILL STRIKE MAKE A DIFFERENCE? by @emrysjobber
These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional.
PHYSICAL SKILLS
“What skills do you have that have nothing to do with the online space? What practical skill or handwork do you have that you believe would be enough to make you money if, for some reason, the world lost the internet? How long have you had this skill? And do you plan to get any better at it?”
