In some Caribbean countries, drumming is danced to, a cultural expression inherited from Africa.

For the first time, I had the opportunity to witness an impromptu performance while I was on the beach, and luckily for me, I had my camera. So I didn't miss the chance to get closer and take photographs.

The people who were dancing weren't originally from the place, called Patanemo. Or at least I think so, because they were on a trip. I overheard that from a woman saying it was late to keep dancing and the bus was about to leave.

However, they didn't hear her, because to the rhythm of the drum, many got excited to dance.

The ones who did live there were the ones playing. I know because I asked one of them.

Locals and tourists alike spent a pleasant time together, where laughter and bodies danced to the beat of enjoyment.

En algunos países caribeños se baila tambor, una expresión cultural heredada de África.

Por primera vez tuve la oportunidad de presenciar un improvisado performance mientras estaba en la playa y, para mi suerte, tenía mi cámara. Así que no perdí la oportunidad de acercarme a tomar fotografías.

Las personas que estaban bailando no eran oriundas del lugar, llamado Patanemo. O al menos eso creo, porque estaban de paseo. Eso escuché de una señora al decir que ya era tarde para seguir bailando y que el autobús ya iba a partir.

Sin embargo, no la escucharon, porque al ritmo del tambor muchos se entusiasmaban a bailar.

Los que sí vivían allí eran los que estaban tocando. Lo sé porque le pregunté a uno de ellos.

Entre turistas y lugareños se pasó un rato ameno, donde las risas y los cuerpos danzaban al compás del goce.
