While staying for the night in my van in a beautiful forest, half way traveling north from southern France a few weeks ago. Read: While waiting for the early morning ferry departing at Travemünde. I went for an evening walk to stretch my legs. As the entire journey would be a drive from 3500km in total, so a walk or two are well needed along the way.
I wanted to show you today some of the little details I saw on this walk in a German forest. The forest’s name is Waldhusener Forst in Lübeck Germany 🇩🇪
Come along… join me.
With this post I’m joining in at the Wednesday Walk #challenge. That is hosted by @tattoodjay every week on Wednesday.

Today’s photographic selection will be of 16 PHOTOGRAPHS
Date : 5 June 2025
The Photographs in this post are taken with my iPhone.
I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my adventures on this walk to #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.
Location of the Lübeck forest we find on the following screenshot of Google Maps :
As you can see it is between Lübeck and Travemünde. We parked on one of the many parking spots.
We were not along for the night, just a Dutch van and later another station car. The car between the vans disappeared after walking their dogs.
Shall we go for our walk now?
Yes, great let’s go…
After going around the barrier, where I took the first photo of the snail. (That is one of my favourite photos from today.)
We have this view into the forest and see a wide walking path.
Zooming out a little. The trees are very tall.
We walk further and deeper into the forest. There are many trails in different directions. This forest isn’t big enough to get lost though… haha so we just walk and go right at every turn as we know we end up back again.
Some parts are rather dark, but beautiful to walk into.
After a bend I did see a deer 🦌 standing on the forest path, it was too quick though for my camera. So I didn't manage to capture it for you.
I did find some fungi on this log 🪵 that was on the forest floor.
Let me show you some details. As you know, I love details.
So many layers… beautiful.
We walk further. There is almost nobody in this forest. As you know… the way I like it. Just nature and us.
A tree stump with large roots captures my gaze.
A close up of it.
On my way out of the forest I see many buttercups. 🌼🌼🌼🌼
I capture some for you to see today.
Such a beautiful spring flower. How can I not share it with you today.
My second favourite photo.
After a good nights sleep, I woke up early and made a cappuccino 😎
The ferry was already waiting when I arrived at the harbour.
Soon more walks from this journey. Back to sanding now 🧰
…and here I say that’s all for today’s post my friends.
Join me next time for more updates, adventures, #stories and photographs.
Even my own artworks, once in a while, will come by.
Thank you so much for looking, and reading.
