It was a real treat to see familiar faces in the family of Food Bank again!
Due to the fact I have been busy manning the 50 people choir for the huge event, I wasn't able to go help as it clashes with the practice time.
However I am so glad that the team has grown big enough to have alternate team members to come help and whoever is free they will slot in to help.
God has been really good to the food bank that HE provided not only for the families but enough resources for us to cook a decent meal of thanksgiving to the volunteers each time we had a major packing.
Our director never hesitate to spoil us with a little top up from her wages to make sure everyone is well fed till we can even pack home.
Some volunteers even decided to make it as a "pot-bless" by adding additional food, one of Malaysia's favourite, curry chicken!
(Ooh. Look at the red spicy oil layer at the top)
Because it was Mid Autum festival weekend, one of the special needs volunteer learned how to make mooncakes with a bit of a twist, adding chocolate into the pastry skin.
It wasn't bad at all though the looks were more like scones at a time.
Another volunteer (former recipient) never failed to make additional kueh to bless the team, these are the traditional snaks she now make to sell for a living after the church and food bank came to help and support her to start a small business to be self sustainable.
This is how the family of @gtpjfoodbank is now. There's always hope for those who restart their lives , from recipient to volunteer.
The transformation of lives are important. They do not want recipient to stay in poverty always, and I am so glad that some of those recipients give back by helping out in return.
Until Then
Stay safe, stay healthy, lend a hand when able
