Bear with me, Hive will fork. It happened at Dubrovnik in Croatia last September after Hive Fest. If you missed it, don't worry, I will show you in a minute. But first of all, shall we grab some food? Let's go for my favourite - seafood. The location is at a restaurant called Barba in Dubrovnik Old Town.

Barba is very small, I reckon it only sits around 15 people max. It doesn't take reservations and I know the tables fill up pretty quickly at dinner time. Luckily, I was staying two minutes walk away, and went over to grab a table quite early before the crown started to build up. I still had to wait about 5 minutes but that was ok, and I got this table. This is pretty much how big it is inside the restaurant.

There were a few more seats by the window in the front of the restaurant. I took this photo after I had my dinner and was leaving. A small queue was forming already. These people have a long wait.

Food wise, we ordered a seafood platter it has a bit of everything. It was more than enough for the two of us and was very nice. We love seafood, and it's unusual to find any seafood that we don't like. I particularly love the oysters and the fried calamari. And the big pool of fried sardines was great to go with the beer. The platter came with a massive burger. We got to choose from octopus, tuna or shrimp, and went for the shrimp one. It was a good choice!

Hive Fork

Ok, enough of the food. I promised you the Hive Fork, and here it is 😊

You may have noticed in some of the previous photos, there were a lot of these wooden forks stuck all over the restaurant. Yup, go back and check them if you missed it, and there are more below. They're literally everywhere in the restaurant. Even around the lamp shades!

I think this is a great way to keep customers occupied as they wait for their food, not that it took long for mine to arrive. A lot of restaurants give children drawing and colouring sheets, so this is just an adult version of the same. It's so affordable and effective to create a unique decor for the restaurant. Brilliant idea.

Coming fresh from HiveFest, I grabbed some pens and started to draw the Hive logo, red on black background. Unfortunately it didn't work and the two colours bled together. Woops! What a disaster!

Change of design, no solid colours, just outline. My second attempt was much better, I think, even though the V is a little wonky. It didn't take long for me to finish my master piece, just in time for my food to arrive.

And here's the final Hive Fork. What do you think?
