Earlier this year, in March, I recorded and shared something deeply personal on YouTube—an acoustic cover of And No More Shall We Part by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. It’s a song that’s long held a quiet place in my heart, and one I felt drawn to revisit with just a voice, a guitar, and the silence of the high desert surrounding me.
Nick Cave’s original carries a weight that’s hard to describe—an aching beauty woven into every word, every minor chord. In my own interpretation, I aimed not to replicate but to honor that spirit in my own voice and stripped-down style. No loops, no embellishment. Just raw acoustic performance, filtered through the lens of solitude and reflection that living off-grid often brings.
The video was recorded unplugged in my studio, where the surrounding silence lets each note ring out unbothered. It’s the kind of performance I rarely plan in advance—I let the song move through me and speak with my hands. I hope that what comes across is honesty more than polish, intention more than perfection.
This song, in particular, speaks of love’s persistence in the face of change, pain, or even death. There’s something sacred in that—and maybe that’s why I wanted to give it space within my own voice, however humbly.
If you're familiar with my original music, you’ll know I often focus on instrumental acoustic pieces, meditative improvisations that arise from stillness. But every now and then, a song with words demands to be sung. This was one of them.

A principios de marzo de este año, grabé y compartí algo profundamente personal en YouTube: una versión acústica de "And No More Shall We Part" de Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Es una canción que siempre ha ocupado un lugar especial en mi corazón, y me sentí atraído a revisitarla con solo una voz, una guitarra y el silencio del desierto que me rodea.
La canción original de Nick Cave tiene una fuerza difícil de describir: una belleza dolorosa entretejida en cada palabra, en cada acorde menor. En mi propia interpretación, no busqué replicar, sino honrar ese espíritu con mi propia voz y estilo minimalista. Sin bucles ni adornos. Solo una interpretación acústica pura, filtrada a través de la soledad y la reflexión que a menudo trae la vida desconectada.
El video se grabó desconectado en mi estudio, donde el silencio circundante permite que cada nota resuene sin interrupciones. Es el tipo de interpretación que rara vez planeo con antelación: dejo que la canción fluya a través de mí y hable con mis manos. Espero que la impresión que transmita sea más honestidad que refinamiento, más intención que perfección.
Esta canción, en particular, habla de la persistencia del amor ante el cambio, el dolor o incluso la muerte. Hay algo sagrado en eso, y quizás por eso quise darle espacio en mi propia voz, aunque sea con humildad.
Si conoces mi música original, sabrás que a menudo me centro en piezas acústicas instrumentales, improvisaciones meditativas que surgen de la quietud. Pero de vez en cuando, una canción con letra exige ser cantada. Esta fue una de ellas.
