Hello Hive gamers! Moon Karts is a 3D kart racing game on the Hive blockchain, where players race, customize karts with NFTs, and earn rewards. Compete solo or online, upgrade your ride with Tech Cards and Power-Ups, and climb the leaderboards to win COLONY tokens. Built by the creators of #splinterlands, it's fast, strategic, and #play2earn.
To start playing Moon Karts, players need a racing set-up basically composed of a kart and a driver. Optionally we can also include power-ups, tech cards and accessories to have more competitive stats. Here's a racing set-up I would recommend.
Kart: Quasar Sport $4.50
The kart is the key NFT when building your racing setup. Its rarity and level determine how many Tech Cards, Power-Ups, and Accessories you can equip. The higher the rarity and level, the more customization options you get, boosting your racing stats. For the kart, I highly recommend the Quasar Sport. A level one Quasar Sport is now available in the market for $4.50. The prices have decreased from $7.49 when I wrote my first post on building an epic kart.
At level one, the Quasar Sport has 114.1 speed while its health, acceleration and handling is at 60. At level one, it has three slots open for tech cards, accessories and power ups. We can build a competitive racing set-up with these stats and slots availability.
Driver: Spark $2.39
Spark will give our racing set-up with decent speed of 20.5, health of 21.6, acceleration of 9.6 and handling of 18.2. An epic Spark driver costs $2.39 in the market. I chose him because I like to increase my handling stats. At the same time, Spark has high health enabling him to take some bumps from competitor drivers. Choose your driver on your racing style. There are drivers who have higher stats on speed and acceleration like Aurora who costs $4.35 in the market.
Tech Cards: $7.40
Tech Cards enhance a kart’s stats such as speed, acceleration, health, and handling. You can equip up to three Tech Cards on a single kart.
Engine Enhancement $2.49 | Tire Upgrade $2.44 | Reinforced Body $2.47 |

An Engine Enhancement card (1 BCX) is priced at $2.49 and boosts speed by 62.6 along with an acceleration increase of 3.5. The Tire Upgrade card, costing $2.44, adds 13.5 to speed, 3.3 to acceleration, and significantly improves handling by 48.8. Meanwhile, the Reinforced Body card, priced at $2.47, enhances health significantly by 48.8 and provides a slight acceleration boost of 3.3. Altogether, these three tech cards total $7.40.
Accessories $3.23
Like Tech Cards, accessories boost a kart’s stats, including speed, health, acceleration, and handling. Each kart can equip up to three accessories.
Corner Demon $2.50 | Easy Breeze $0.39 | Steady Spin $0.34 |

An epic Corner Demon, available in the market for $2.50, enhances the kart’s stability by increasing handling by 2.3. Rare Easy Breeze, priced at $0.39, provides a speed boost of 7.9, while Rare Steady Spin, costing $0.34, improves acceleration by 5.3. The combined cost for all three is $3.23. I didn't choose an all epic accessories because they are either too costly or not available in the market.
Power Ups
Power Ups are offensive and defensive tools you can equip on your kart to disable opponents or protect yourself from incoming attacks. Each Power Up offers limited-time protection or impact. While I chose not to include Power Ups in my build, you're free to add them if you prefer. All Power Ups are common cards, but they tend to be pricey, ranging from $3 to $5 each. A kart can carry up to five Power Ups at once.

Overall Kart Stats and Cost $17.52
The build I’ve recommended comes to a total of $17.52, based on current market prices. This racing setup delivers 219 speed, 130 health, 129 handling, and 85 acceleration. You can tweak these stats by experimenting with different drivers, card rarities, and levels but in my opinion, the kart itself offers the best performance for its cost.
Drop a comment with your ideal racing setup, and I’ll calculate the total cost and overall stats then feature it in my next post!
