Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to another edition of Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! After the recent maintenance, it was announced the Conclave Arcana Conflicts are live! Conflicts give participants to win card air drops.

What Are Conclave Arcana Conflicts?

Conflicts are another mechanic to airdrop cards in Splinterlands. Unlike traditional drop based solely on pack purchases, Conflicts require players to actively stake Rebellion and Conclave Arcana assets like cards and packs into Mage Wagons. Staking assets gives chances for card airdrops.

Each Conflict lasts approximately 30 days, with nine scheduled over time. Players accumulate points that will give them chances proportional to their assets staked. The more powerful the cards and packs you stake, the better your odds at winning the Conflict’s exclusive airdrop.

How to Join

First you need to acquire Mage Wagons.

You can either build it yourself in the Artisan's Quarter. To build a Mage Wagon, you will need: 40,000 Wood; 10,000 Stone; 4,000 Iron and 2,500 Aura.

Another option is to buy it from the market for around $5 each.

Each mage wagon can carry up to five cards and one hundred packs.

How to Earn Points

For each asset staked, there is a corresponding points earned depending on the kind of cards or packs. Conclave Arcana cards will earn points based on their full collection power. On the other hand, Rebellion cards will earn points of half their collection power. Similarly, Conclave Arcana standard packs will earn one hundred points while Rebellion packs will earn fifty. In addition, Conclave Arcana Alchemy packs will earn three hundred points and Conclave Arcana Legendary packs will earn six hundred points.

Airdrop Rewards

Every one hundred thousand points (100,000) give you one chance to get the Conflicts airdrop. Each chance is one in eight hundred (1/800) or 0.125%. This means that you get a guaranteed airdrop if you have eight hundred chances in one Conflict.

In addition, there are chances to get a Gold Foil and Black Foil versions. Gold Foils chances are 4% or one in twenty five while Black Foils are much harder to acquire at only 0.1% chance. Both chances can be doubled by using alchemy and midnight potions respectively.

Wait there's more! Arcane versions are available at the end of each Conflict. One Black Foil Arcane and five Gold Foil Arcane will be added to Conclave Arcana jackpot prizes.

How to Fill Your Wagons Effeciently

Remember that each Mage Wagon can carry five cards and the points that are considered are based on collection power. So the more collection power a card has, the more points it earns. This means it will be more efficient to stake higher level and higher rarity cards which have high collection powers compared to single and common cards. In addition, Gold Foil and even more, Black Foil versions of cards which have high collection powers are even more efficient. For example, a single Black Foil legendary carries 62,500 collection power that is even more than a maxed level Gold Foil legendary that has only 52,500 collection power. On the other hand, not many has Black Foil cards, much more Black Foil legendary cards so you have to work with the maximum collection power cards that you have if you want to participate in Conflicts.

Repairing Mage Wagons

Each time you win an airdropped card, one of your wagons becomes damaged and must be repaired at the same resource cost before it can be used again. This mechanic applies regardless of whether the wagon was actively used in the Conflicts. For example, if you have 200 wagons, with 100 currently filled and earning points, and you receive 60 airdropped cards, then 60 of your 200 wagons will be damaged and will be in need of Repairs.

Conclusion

Since the introduction of Conflicts, it has proven to be an innovative way to reward players who has invested in Splinterlands assets. On the other hand, it's not just "the more assets you buy, the more chances of winning airdrops". Players still need to strategize and choose whether to stake their cards or use them in the game. Players will have to sacrifice not being able to use cards in exchange for chances to win airdrops. Also, there are additional sinks for DEC if you choose to buy Mage Wagons and even in repairing them.
