This time, I want to share a mother and daughter studio photoshoot I did days ago. They wanted beautiful photos to have a lifelong memory, so we coordinated a date at my studio and brought this session to life.
Before starting, I usually ask if they have prior photoshoot experience. The mom told me she did, but it was her daughter's first time, and they had never taken photos together. So, I knew I needed to guide them throughout the entire session.
To begin the first shots, I wanted to use a cube in the studio because people usually feel more comfortable when seated:
En esta ocasion les quiero compartir una sesion de fotos tipo estudio que hice de madre e hija, ellas querian unas fotos bonitas para tener un recuerdo para toda la vida, cordinamos una fecha en mi estudio y llevamos acabo esta sesion de fotos.
Antes de comenzar la sesion de fotos pregunto si ya tienen experiencia en previas sesiones de fotos y la mamá me dijo que si pero que era la primera vez de la chica y nunca se habian hecho fotos juntas asi que yo debia guiarlas durante toda la sesion de fotos.
Para comenzar las primeras fotos quise poner el cubo en el estudio porque usualmente las personas se sienten mas comodas al estar sentadas:

Fuimos haciendo ligeras variaciones en las poses para tener variedad en las fotografias:
All the photos were taken with my Canon R8 camera and a 50mm f/4 lens.
For lighting, I used two light sources: for the main light, I used a speedlite flash with a 50 cm octabox at a 45 degree angle to the subjects, and as a secondary light, I used an LED light panel behind them to create a rim light.
Todas las fotos las tomé con mi camara Canon R8 y un lente 50mm a 4/f.
Para la iluminacion utilicé dos puntos de luz, para luz principal usé un flash speed lite con un octabox de 50 cm a 45 grados de las chicas y como luz secundaria utilicé un panel de luz led detras de las chicas para crear una luz de recorte.
Then I placed a small cube on top of the large one to create this photo where the mom is styling her daughter's hair:
Luego puse un cubo pequeño encima del cubo grande para crear esta foto en la que la mamá esta peinando a su hija:
And we also took this photo:
Y tambien hicimos esta foto:
For the next set of photos, I removed the cube from the set, and we moved on to some standing shots. We took many photos, but these two were our favorites:
Para las siguientes fotos quité el cubo del set y pasamos a hacer algunas fotos de pie, hicimos muchisimas fotos pero estas fueron nuestras dos favoritas:
To conclude the mother daughter portion of the photoshoot, we took this photo with both of them on the floor, which turned out super adorable!
Y para terminar al sesion de fotos de madre e hija juntas hicimos esta foto con ambas chicas en el suelo, que quedaron super adorables!
Then it was time for some individual shots. I started with the daughter since her birthday was approaching, and she wanted some professional photos for it.
Since the lights were set up for floor shots, we started there. I guided her with the poses the entire time to make her feel comfortable:
Y luego era el turno de hacer un par de fotos indivudales, empecé por la chica, ya que su cumpleaños estaba cerca y queria tener unas fotos profesionales por su cumpleaños.
Como las luces estaban armadas para las fotos en el suelo, empezamos por alli, yo la guié todo el tiempo con las poses para que se sintiera comoda:
Then I put the cube back on the set, and we made slight variations in poses to find the best photos:
Luego volví a poner el cubo en el set y hicimos ligeras variaciones de poses para encontrar las mejores fotos:
And we finished the session with this photo of the mother, which was totally unexpected. Out of nowhere, she suddenly told us she had always wanted a photo like this and showed me the reference photograph. She changed her clothes and got ready on the set for us to create this really cool shot.
Y finalizamos la sesion con esta foto de la madre, que fue totalmente inesperada, de la nada de pronto nos dijo que siempre habia querido una foto asi y me enseño la referencia de la foto, se cambió la ropa y se preparo en el set para que hicieramos esta foto que quedó muy cool.
By the end of the photoshoot, both the clients and I were extremely happy with the results. I hope you like them as much as we did!
