Hello my Fellow Splinter Lovers,
Well, the day has finally arrived. This is the beginning of a new era - the era of Conclave Arcanas, throwing out the old Chaos Legion monsters from the modern arena. With the pre-sale event, Splinterlands is also all set to release a batch of new things in the game that I am sure you all will need some time to grasp them all. From Archons to New Black Foil, Black Foil Archon and Gold foil Archon cards, new abilities and introduction of bloodlines to the in-game mechanics, introduction of Black Potion and the new required building to build this potion in Lands and whatnot. Even critics are saying this is by far the most iconic and lucrative core card set presale ever.
Now, obviously, hundreds of investors are waiting eagerly for this presale and are ready with their treasure chests and will jump into the presale as soon as the window opens, and yes, gladly, I will be joining them as well. This will be my first active participation in any Splinterlands presale, instead of a handful of years spent in this game, because I always used to focus on getting one card at a time from the market while looking for good deals. But this time, I wanted to experience this one-of-a-kind pack opening experience first-hand and not to mention, trying my luck in the presale rewards. So, in this post, I will be talking about today’s CA presale event and my participation and see if I can expect any rewards from the presale. So, if you are interested, let us take a dive without any further ado.
The Pre-Sale Event
Taking a look at the CA presale, first of all, there will be a total 3 different kinds of booster packs available in the presale - Standard, Alchemy and Legendary Packs and another newly introduced starter pack will not be available in the presale but from general sale onwards. So as an investor, we have 3 different choices to select from while making a purchase in the presale and no matter how many packs of which kind you have bought, your airdrop points or milestones will be directly proportional to your total DEC spent in the presale. So, in simple words, the more DEC you spend in the game, the better your chances are of getting presale rewards.
Now, all of you ready to make a purchase in the CA presale, I guess you have already decided how many of which pack types you will be buying in the presale, because once the presale starts, everybody will jump in and literally jam the server, so there is no room for second thoughts. Moreover, every pack type that is listed for sale in the CA presale will have a limited number of total packs for sale during this event period. So, being late may cost you hugely by not finding enough available packs on a later stage. So, if you are already prepared to enter the presale, be sure to make the purchase as soon as the buy window appears and then track the leaderboard for your position.
Buying Alchemy Packs
Now, talking about me, from those 3 available CA booster packs, I have chosen to put my faith in the mighty Alchemy packs and will spend all my DEC only to buy this particular type of pack from the presale. If you are wondering why, then let me explain why I am going toward this particular type over the standard or legendary packs. Actually, my main attraction in this CA presale is the Black Foil and Arcane print cards, which are available only in Black and Fold Foil cards. Now, these Black Foil cards are being created just amazingly, they come as max-level cards out of the box and are usable as gold foil cards in tournaments. Not only that, these Black Foil cards will also hold significantly more perks and advantages over regular cards like more in-game rewards or land reward boost, etc, for which I think these Black Foil cards will be a game changer and as expected, costly as well. Now, each of these Black Foil cards will be a better version of the max Gold Foil of that same Card, so you can clearly understand the importance of this card in-game. On top of that, the designer aesthetics of the black card foil make it a collector’s choice, even more so because they are first edition cards of their kind. But how to get these Black Foil Cards? Well, that’s where the game of pack types comes in.
Why Alchemy Packs
I chose to buy the Alchemy packs in the upcoming presale to get the best possible chance of getting these particular types of cards. As mentioned in the official Post. Out of those 3 pack types, the Alchemy pack holds the most possible chance of getting a Black Foil card, which is 1 out of 80 packs or 400 cards. For each Black Foil card you get, just think that you have gotten more than the same max gold foil card, so I think finding even one is really worth it. Now, each Conclave Arcana Alchemy pack costs 12,000 DEC and you get the same 5 different BCXs of cards as the standard pack. However, unlike the standard pack, where only a minimum of 1 rare card per pack is guaranteed, with the Alchemy packs, we get 1 gold foil card guarantee per pack. So, though overall you are getting fewer cards than investing in Standard or starter packs, you will surely find way more gold foils from these Alchemy packs. Gladly, black foil cards are also treated like Gold foil cards and alchemy packs, apart from increasing the chance of pulling hold foils, also boosts the chance to pull Black Foils as well. So that’s just a double deal for the Black Foil seekers and no way I was going to miss this opportunity.
Last but not least, I wish all of your presale journey goes smoothly and you get the best of the best cards on May 13, when we can open our CA packs. Less than 1 hour left for the presale to go Live and the maintenance window has already appeared, possibly with the necessary presale changes. I am also planning a big buy this time with Conclave Arcana and will share all the details in the next Splinterlands post, hopefully, after I make the purchase successfully today.
