Hello, my dear aliens!
In this new chapter of my mini SketchBook, it's the turn of a cosmic mandala. Since i made this little art book, i had in mind that it would be like a small gallery of healing mandalas or inspired by the chakras but in the end these pages changed course and became a small museum to give free rein to my imagination of the present moment and the truth is that i liked it better this way.

En este nuevo capítulo de mi mini SketchBook, le llegó el turno a un mandala cósmico.
Desde que hice este pequeño librito de arte, tenía pensado en que fuese como una pequeña galería de mandalas sanadores o inspirados en los chakras pero al final estas páginas cambiaron de rumbo y se convirtieron en un pequeño museo para darle rienda suelta a mi imaginación del momento presente y la verdad me gustó más así.

So in this chapter number 8, it will finally be dedicated to a mandala. I started by tracing the guide lines and in the center i always like to start with an eye, i think it's my connection to my childhood, as a child i used to make collages with old magazines, for some strange reason i liked to make flowers and in the center i placed eyes and glued them to the wall.
Asi que en este capítulo número 8, finalmente estará dedicado a un mandala. Comencé trazando las líneas guía y en el centro siempre me gusta empezar por un ojo, creo que es mi conexión con la niñez, de niña solia hacer collage con revistas viejas, por alguna extraña razón me gustaba hacer flores y en el centro le colocaba ojos y los pegaba a la pared.

Once i created my sketch, i was not quite sure if i wanted to outline the whole drawing or just some parts, i still did not have a defined technique or style for this small mandala, in the end i decided to outline it all very delicately with a very fine calibrated pen, i did not want thick lines because having a very limited canvas, the mandala can become a disaster and the idea is to convey a certain harmony and sacred symmetry.
Una vez creado mi boceto, no estaba del todo segura si quería delinear todo el dibujo o sólo algunas partes, no tenía todavía una técnica ni estilo definido para este pequeño mandala.Al final me decidí por delinearlo todo muy delicadamente con un bolígrafo calibrado muy fino, no quería líneas gruesas ya que al tener un lienzo muy limitado, el mandala se puede convertir en un desastre y la idea es que transmita cierta armonía y simetría sagrada.

After the outline, i had to decide in which parts i wanted to give more depth, which areas i wanted to highlight... I let myself be carried away by the current of the unconscious and as i love black ink, i kept adding dense and dark touches with thicker caliber pens. At this point i always have that urge to want to do everything in that scale, grayscale or black and white with a few touches of some vibrant color. I picked up a red ink pen to see how it would look and i liked it. But since the initial idea was not to make a dark mandala i had to decide what colors to use.
Después del delineado, tenía que decidir en que partes darle más profundidad, qué zonas quiero destacar... Me dejé llevar por la corriente del inconsciente y como amo la tinta negra pues seguí añadiendo toques densos y oscuros con boligrafos de calibres mas gruesos. En este punto siempre tengo ese impulso de querer hacerlo todo en esa escala, de grises o blanco y negro con pocos toques de algún color vibrante. Tomé un bolígrafo de tinta roja para ver qué tal quedaba y me gustó. Pero como la idea inicial no era hacer un mandala oscuro pues debía decidir qué colores usar.

I was a little afraid to use markers for this mandala, because the strokes are so small that maybe the tip of a marker could ruin the whole design, i was thinking of using colored pencils and play with gradients. In the end i tried giving small touches with an alcohol marker and i took the risk of coloring everything very delicately, i admit that there were times when i didn't breathe so as not to move my hand too much.
Tenía un poco de miedo de usar marcadores para este mandala, pues los trazos son tan pequeños que tal vez la punta de un marcador podía arruinar todo el diseño, estaba pensando en usar lápices de colores y así jugar con degradados. Al final probé dando pequeños toques con un marcador de alcohol y me arriesgué a colorearlo todo con mucha delicadeza, admito que había momentos que no respiraba para no mover demasiado mi mano.
I chose only three colors for this mandala, red, yellow and turquoise green. I used alcohol markers, some details in red i did with a red ink pen and the pointillism in the central part i did with acrylic markers, this part was my favorite obviously because i love pointillism.
Escogí solo tres colores para este mandala, el rojo, amarillo y verde turquesa. Usé marcadores de alcohol, algunos detalles en rojo los hice con un bolígrafo de tinta roja y el puntillismo en la parte central lo hice con marcadores acrílicos, esta parte fue mi favorita obviamente porque amo el puntillismo.

Studying and observing my little gallery in these mini pages, i decided to choose yellow for the background of my mandala... I want variety in this little art book and i noticed that i hadn't used a bold yellow background yet. I was undecided which pattern to use on the background, i was between more pointillism or drawing very thin lines, i decided for the lines. It was a relaxing moment.
Estudiando y observando mi pequeña galería en estas mini páginas, decidí escoger el color amarillo para el fondo de mi mandala... Quiero variedad en este librito de arte y noté que todavía no habia usado un amarillo llamativo de fondo. Estaba indecisa de qué patrones usar sobre el fondo, estaba entre más puntillismo o trazar líneas muy finas, me decidí por las líneas. Fue un momento relajante.

And so was the result of this all-seeing eye, thanks to holding my breath i managed not to have a disaster happen with these little lines, it reminded me a bit of ethnic knitting 💛💚❤️ This was all for today, see you in the next chapter.
