Han visto muchas series y películas durante está semana santa pasada, espero que los que tuvieran sus vacaciones y días libres pudieran haber aprovechado para ver cosas nuevas , yo aproveché para ver muchas películas en familia, y una de ellas fue la adaptación de la obra de Stephen king ,el " mono " o mejor conocido por su espectacular aparición como el mono maldito de toy story, sí ese que vigilaba y tocaba los tambores 🥁 , en fin el punto es que aproximadamente desde el año pasado había estado viendo los rumores de esta película, sobre todo por qué la iba a protagonizar Theo James y la verdad con ese rostro tallado por los mismos angeles que Theo tiene jajaj quería verlo en otro proyecto después de su actuación magnífica en la serie "The gentlemen" y bueno al fin pude disfrutar de ella aunque realmente no les mentiré, no era lo que esperaba.
Sinopsis
El mono de stephen king es un relato de 1980 que va de un mono con juguete con un tambor , este mono está supuestamente maldito, y cada vez que toca sus tambores trae desgracias ,provocando muertes y accidentes. El tono de esta película me recordó a Lisa Frankenstein, más una película de humor negro con toques fantasiosos, o incluso la película Abigail, que también se va al terror pero usa lo sobre natural con toques de humor negro y escenas bizarras, aquí pasa lo mismo, es un adaptación que se va centrando más en desarrollar una historia bastante cómica como mucho humor negro, también se esfuerza mucho en crear una estética distintiva a la película que se disfruta
mucho, y crear un ambiente que te va envolviendo en todo la locura que va pasando, con muchas escenas sangrientas que van volviéndose cada vez más locas y bizarras, y que va agregando muertes más y más locas hasta el final que me recordó demasiado a happy trhee Friends (lo recuerdan 🙊?), realmente no se toma en serio a sí misma la película lo que hace que uno la disfrute bastante, ya que realmente casi nada tiene sentido, y los diálogos están llenos de chistes y guiños a propósito con doble sentido que te va presagiando lo que pasará.En cuanto al nivel actoral me pareció bastante bueno Theo James, aquí interpreta a ambos personajes el protagonista hall y el antagonista Bill el hermano bullying de pequeño, y llevando los dos personajes principales lo hace excelente, aunque no me trago eso de que el Hall estaría siendo un cajero de Walmart solitario y sin relaciones con esa cara ,(jajaj por Dios sí es un papucho), lo que sí me parece excelente es , precisamente su narración, Theo tiene un voz muy gruesa y profunda que combina con todo el ambiente de terror y la narración de la historia es muy importante en la película ya que es la que nos va contando la historia de todo lo que va ocurriendo y nos va dando el contexto.

La película realmente que esperaba era talvez algo más orientada al terror y a una adaptación mas fiel del cuento, aunque me parece que sí conservaron algunos detalles como la relación del protagonista hall, y peaty que era su hijo en el relato también se conservan aquí, pero agregando aquí la historia de los hermanos, también me pareció bien interesante la forma en que decidieron dividir la historia, tenemos la introducción con un Adam Scott haciendo del padre de los gemelos, y ya entrando con un escena bien bizarra y sangrienta, luego pasa a la primera parte de la película que nos lleva al pasado entre el año 99 y nos muestra como es la convivencia de los hermanos, quienes no se llevan para nada bien ,pero es que Bill parece ser un anticristo con su hermano, el punto es que descubren allí este juguete de mono, y Hall de alguna forma tiene una conexión con el , Bill es el primero en girar la llave para ver cómo sonara el tambor, pero no pasa nada, y Bill se aburre y lo deja ,unos días después sucede un incidente en dónde la niñera d ellos niños resulta asesinado en un extraño incidente, por otro lado Hall que parece estar conectado a encontrar varias veces el mono y escuchar su mecanismo empieza a creer que este mono de alguna forma puede ser mágico o cumplir deseo, es por luego de estar cansado una y otra vez de las bromas de Bill , decide activar la llave del mono y girarla todo para que este mono pueda asesinar a su hermano Bill, por desgracia este monito maldito no cumple deseos sí no que escoge al azar la muerte de la persona ,y termina matando a la madre de los gemelos de un aneurisma, dejando a estos completamente huérfanos y a manos de unos tíos, Hall convencido de la maldad del mono, y habiendo mostrado a Bill que lo que está pasando es real , llevan al mono a un pozo y lo sellan allí para que nadie más pueda usarlo,y es así como hall empieza una vida de aislamiento y culpa ,en dónde evita tener relaciones duraderas para que estás no se vean afectadas por este mono maldito. Y la segunda parte de la película está ambientada ya 25 años después cuando ambos hermanos son adultos, las muertes bizarras parecen estar afectando a las personas que están alrededor de Hall y es posible que afecte a Peaty el hijo de Hall ,por lo que sabe que tiene poco tiempo antes que la muerte afecte a su hijo y a él, así que no le queda de otra que esperar a contactar a Bill y buscar al mono antes de que cause más estragos.
Todo el personaje de Bill es una locura estrafalario, pero me divirtió bastante, sobre todo el aspecto del cabello y el traje jajaj,fue un buen toque para demostrar la locura de Bill, aunque la película tiene bastante agujeros de trama en toda las historia ,como porqué el mono tardo tanto tiempo en volver ante bill? , su origen y como llego a su padre? , y también cuál es la fascinación que causa en los que lo usan ,como por ejemplo con reagy el chico rockero que decía que le recordaba a su padre cuando vea al mono a los ojos, y cuál es la razón por la que el mono no quería matar a Hall? Con todas las muerte que Bill provocó esperando a que matara a Hall, es raro que el mono nunca lo matara a él, pero sí a Bill ?, no se me pareció raro. En fin creo que está bastante disfrutable siempre que recuerdes que es una comedia negra y sangrienta y no una película tan de terror a lo tradicional, más bien termina siendo más cómica y bizarra que todo, le doy un 4/5⭐ por el factor entretenimiento, narración de Theo y la edición que me pareció bastante original, y cuéntame tu la viste?
