Honkai: Star Rail
Finally, the long awaited moment has arrived.!! The Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 update has officially been released, and this update is truly special and beyond comprehension, guys. How could it not be? Hoyoverse has given us three new five star characters at once! Two of them are dream collaboration characters with the legendary anime, Fate/Stay Night!
So, in version 3.4, we will be welcoming Phainon, Saber, and Archer.
Phainon is an original character from Honkai: Star Rail. The concept is really cool, he is depicted as a cosmic entity tasked with observing and recording destinies through the movements of star constellations. His design is elegant and full of mysterious vibes.
Now, what has sent shockwaves through the world of fandom, of course is Saber and Archer! They are officially collaborating characters from Fate/Stay Night. What a dream to see these legendary Servants fighting in the world of Honkai: Star Rail!
But hold on. These three characters are not being released all at once. In the first week of the update, we can gacha for Phainon. Only in the second week will the Saber and Archer banners appear. And what's even crazier, Hoyoverse is super generous! The Archer character will be given for free to all players. Awesome!
Alright, for now, I want to focus on discussing Phainon, whose banner has popped up a few days ago. My first impression of this character is incredible..!!! From the walking animation, the elegant idle animation while gazing at the star orb in his hand, to the detailed costume, everything feels premium. Hoyoverse really put a lot of effort into creating this character.
Now, the most thrilling moment... I want to try my luck in gacha to get Phainon. Honestly, my Stellar Jade is just enough, but this desire cannot be contained. Let’s see if I’m lucky or just unlucky.
A little while later, after warping...
Waaaaaahhhh..!! Gold, guysss! The banner turn gold..!! And finally I got it..!! I really didn’t expect this..!! I was so resigned, but it turns out Phainon wanted to come to my account! Let's level him up right away! hehehehe
Now, speaking of builds, here’s the plan for Phainon based on his Path and skills.
Phainon is a character with the Path Destruction and the Physical element. He has good attacking and defensive abilities, and can adapt in various situations.
The best Light Cone for Phainon is his signature Light Cone. But if you don't have it, other Light Cones from The Destruction 5-Star "On the Fall of an Aeon" or 4-Star "Under the Blue Sky".
The primary Relic choice is definitely the 4-set Wavestrider Captain to increase ATK buff for his Enhanced State.
The best Planar Ornaments for Phainon is Arcadia of Woven Drams. This relic an excellent choice to significantly increase ATK and DMG boost when he is in the Enhanced State.
Priority Stats Focus on Crit Rate/Crit DMG for the body, ATK % or SPD for the shoes, Physical DMG Boost for the sphere, and ATK% for the rope.
Of course, since this is a character that has just come out from gacha, I can't provide the perfect build yet. For now, I can only level him up to 80 first, I don't have enough materials, haha. As for Relics and Traces, they're still empty, so this is just a first impression.
But what amazes me the most is the animation effects. Wow, it's super cool!
His Skill animation shows him spreading a star map towards enemies, and then cosmic light projectiles appear, bouncing off several targets. The visual effects are shimmering and really aesthetic!
The peak is in his Ultimate. This is one of the most cinematic Ultimate animations in the game, in my opinion. Phainon opens a giant portal showcasing a magnificent galaxy, then points to one spot, and BOOM! A meteor shower or some sort of small supernova explosion strikes all enemies in the arena. It's spectacular; it feels satisfying every time I see his Ultimate activate.
I have no regrets at all spending my Stellar Jade for Phainon.
Next target? Definitely Saber! But looking at my sad remaining Stellar Jade, it seems I'll need to save up madly while Phainon's banner is still available. Wish me luck, guys, hoping to get Saber too !!!
