The clever little dwarf Gecko made a plan to escape the morning cold.

Our early mornings are cold now, and the wildlife teaches us to head towards the sunlight.

It seems that winter has come early, as normally it only starts towards the end of May, beginning June. It is not full winter yet, but the cold has gradually started to set in. People are walking around with coughs and sneezes, and so do we as we had the annual flu vaccinations, but something must be in the air as this is the first time that we also have persistent coughs and sneezes, for about 4 days now. I don't know about you and where you live, but over here the weather patterns seem to have completely changed. Severe floods in parts of the country and drought in other parts. The Cape is known for its storms and strong winds, and it is wonderful to see how the wildlife adapts to the conditions.
Let's see how this gecko enjoys the sun.

Yup! Time to heat the body, as everything is safe.

A close up of how relaxed he was, as in the first photo he first spied out the countryside to see if everything was safe.

And that's the door that he was sitting on, in the top edge.

And look how happy this little sunbird was with the warmth.
Singing away like a modern opera singer, but his sound was just so much better.

He turned to warm the chest and then flew away.

I think most of the human race also seeks the sun on early cold days, but in our case at work we sit in the false warmth of air conditioners and other such things. Just think how lucky the wildlife is as nature is their air conditioner. Like us, they also have to work in their search for food, and they also have bosses, leaders of the flocks and the older animals. A difference is that they have great respect for their elders, and many years ago it was also like such in our youth.

I don't know if you have noticed, but lately the youngsters don't respect their elders anymore. We even have students attacking their teachers at schools. It would have been pure sacrilege in my younger days to even touch a teacher, but yes times change, and the rod is spared meaning that no more hidings may be given to any misbehaving child, so discipline has gone down the drain. This, as usual, may be good but as in life it may also be bad. The one thing that I know about it is that our youth detention centers are overflowing, and that is never a good thing.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and story.
