Something to think about on this the first day of this new month of October. We hope that it will be a great month for everyone here on Hive. We have two kinds of nature. Normal nature and human nature. A discussion here about tolerance.
Nature has shown us over time how it tolerates the onslaughts of severe weather and the destruction by mankind.
But what is the first law of human nature?
What is tolerance? It is the consequence of humanity. We are all formed of frailty and error. Let us pardon reciprocally each other's folly. That is the first law of nature. Voltaire
I am not a philosopher, but at times some things grab my attention as it makes so much sense. A prostitute was once surrounded by a group of men with rocks in their hands. They wanted to stone her to death. So they asked an influential person sitting close by what he would do in the woman's case. After a while the person said to the group that if even one of them had never made a mistake, then they could stone the woman. One by one, the group of men dropped their stones to the ground, and they walked away.
Now let me admit, that I am the first one to say that I have made many mistakes in my life. Especially in my younger days, as I have had a big chip on my shoulder. Thankfully now in my older days, I only make one or two mistakes every week :)
Some of my mistakes resulted in me being stoned by people that viewed themselves as better than me and also by those that have never made mistakes in their own lives. Not realizing that we are all in the same boat in this life.
A very strict guy in our community treated me like a sick dog, as he had a snake tongue that criticized everybody that did not see life the same as him. He claimed to be the only one whose viewpoints were correct. But this is the thing about disrespect and tolerance. Later on, we heard his two young daughters committed suicide.
So what am I saying here? I grew up in a place where nobody liked me simply because the stigma of divorce clung not only to my mother, but also to all three of her children. People that made no mistakes in their lives regarded divorce as an unpardonable sin, and I still wonder if they would rather have had my beautiful mother killed by her violent husband. The guy also beat all of us when he was in a drunken state and after the divorce, he paid not a cent to our upbringing, as he had another 5 sons with his new wife. The irony is that she also divorced him. We have had to endure so many other hurts by the false righteousness of society, but I will not go into it here.
I am sharing this with all of you to show you the necessity for respect and tolerance towards all others. Only chuck a stone with your tongue, if you have never made a mistake.
I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures.
Kind greetings to all.
