I will start my post with the statue of Maitreya Buddha. Above I have presented two photographs in front of you in which the statue is visible, it is Maitreya Buddha. The statue of Maitreya Buddha is 106 feet high. And the face of this statue is located in the direction of Shyok River. The Maitreya Buddha statue stands as a sublime symbol of peace, compassion and spiritual harmony in these photographs. The statue is located high in the rugged landscape of the Nubra Valley in Ladakh, making it visible from afar even if one stands in the valley.
Now, if we talk about Maitreya Buddha, then we must definitely talk about Buddhism here. The concept of Maitreya Buddha has great importance in Buddhist teachings. Maitreya is considered the Buddha of the future. His arrival is a symbol of hope, rebirth and ultimate enlightenment for all beings. All these things are from the scriptures, but if we talk about some natural beauty, the wonderful Nubra Valley can be seen from here.
The beautiful natural scenery seen in the two photographs above reveals the Nubra Valley in all its splendor when standing at the high point of the Diskit Monastery. This valley is often called the Valley of Flowers of Ladakh. Nubra Valley is situated at the confluence of the Shyok and Nubra rivers. It is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and sand dunes. It presents a rare and mesmerizing scene.
In the morning, the valley glows in the golden light of the sun. In the morning, the shadows cast by the mountains are very long, which get shorter as the day progresses. For me, Diskit Monastery is not just a religious center. It is a gateway to experience the exquisite beauty of Nubra Valley. It allows one to contemplate the harmony between human devotion and the grandeur of nature.
Standing on the platform of Maitreya Buddha, amidst ancient walls and sacred chants, one feels the timelessness of the mountains and the deep spiritual energy that binds the land and its people. Now let me give you more information about this place, the visiting time of this place is from 9 am to 6 pm. To visit this place, you have to buy a ticket with a nominal charge of 20 rupees.
The road to reach Nubra Valley from Leh is endowed with natural beauty. After leaving Leh, the first thing you will see is Khardung La Pass, which is the highest motorable pass in the world. The distance from Leh to Nubra Valley is about 114 kilometers. It takes about 5 to 6 hours to cover the distance. Many private taxis are also available from Leh to reach Nubra Valley.
Diskit Monastery, also known as Diskit Gompa, is one of the most beautiful and important monasteries of Ladakh. It is located in the Nubra Valley in the Union Territory of Ladakh in the northern part of India. Nubra Valley can also be called a high altitude cold desert. This monastery is not only a religious center for Buddhists but also speaks of its peaceful atmosphere and rich history.
