The sight of fishermen on Havana's Malecon is all too common. But today I went into the bay, where it is also possible to find them. This time I visited the promenade, which is nothing more than a floating platform. It was once very popular, frequented by couples and families. Today, partially destroyed, only the brave dare to enter... and the fishermen.
They take advantage of the holes where there is no longer any floor left to pull the seaweed out of the water, which they then use as bait. A place that was once a place for strolling and resting, is now a refuge of silence, patience and hooks.

Ver pescadores en el malecón habanero es algo ya demasiado habitual. Pero hoy me adentré en la bahÃa, donde también es posible encontrarlos. Esta vez visité el paseo marÃtimo, que no es más que una plataforma flotante. En su momento fue muy popular, frecuentada por parejas y familias. Hoy, parcialmente destruida, solo se atreven a entrar los valientes... y los pescadores.
Ellos aprovechan los huecos donde ya no queda piso para sacar escaramujos del agua, que luego usan como carnada. Un lugar que alguna vez fue de paseo y descanso, ahora es refugio de silencios, paciencia y anzuelos.
