Sour Keeung shrimp soup is typical of my area

We usually call it sour shrimp keueng, which means spicy and sour shrimp, made from shrimp cooked using natural spices such as cayenne pepper, turmeric, shallots, sunti acid, and I also add pieces of starfruit.

The characteristic of this dish is the starfruit. If there is no starfruit, it cannot be called Asam Keeung soup, because the soup is not sour.

This Asam Keeung Shrimp is cooked almost every day by my mother and I, because this is a typical dish in my area for our daily cooking at home. If my mother or I buy shrimp, we definitely cook some of it as Asam Keeung Shrimp, and I fry the rest crispy for my child to eat. Because he can't eat food that is a little spicy.

and today I will cook Asam Keeung shrimp again for the umpteenth time, because this is the first time I have posted this dish,

Materials used

500 grams of fresh shrimp
5 cloves of shallots
1 clove of garlic
1 thumb of turmeric
1/2 tsp coriander
7 cayenne peppers
7 tamarinds
7 starfruits
5 large green chilies
5 peppercorns
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 lime


Cooking procedure



First


First of all, I marinate the shrimp with salt and lime, then I stir until well mixed, I let the shrimp sit for a while so that the salt and lime can be absorbed, then I blend the fine spices, namely cayenne pepper, coriander, turmeric, onion, pepper, tamarind, and garlic

Second


Next, I put the blended spices into the shrimp pan, and I also started to cut the green chilies, starfruit and a little shallot, I immediately put them all into the shrimp, then I turned on the stove and cooked it until it boiled, and after it boiled I added a little water and then I cooked it again.

Third


I continued to cook the keeung sour shrimp sauce again, until the sauce reduced, then I turned off the stove,

and the Asam Keeung shrimp is cooked, and ready to be eaten with warm rice, the shrimp is very sweet, really very fresh, for the taste of the sauce as I said above, the sauce is spicy and sour, plus the sweet shrimp, basically the taste is really very tasty.

a combination of sweet, spicy and sour, that's a little taste that I can convey for my cooking this time,The combination of very special flavors makes me never get tired of eating this dish, even though we cook it very often at home, but I never get tired of this dish.
